Pakistan also need a genuine allrounder imo, someone like Abdul Razzaq or Afridi(what happened to him anyway?)

Afridi doesn't wanna play Tests. wanna be fit for ODI's and T20's.. Pakistan not picking Razzaq because he isn't suited for tests Pakistan thinks.

Fawad Alam must feel like the most hated person on the earth, he scored a century on debut and got dropped three tests later. You look at people like JP Duminy who've done jack ████ and get retained for ages and you have to feel sorry for Alam haha.

The problem is that he's not really an opener, he's ideally suited at no. 5 or 6 and he can play very well at that position. The trouble is that Younis Khan decided that he would happen and the guy scored a 160 due to sheer determination. They tried him twice at the top, he failed, they deemed his technique unfit for the top order thus sending him back. What they should realize is that he's a lower middle order batsman and play him accordingly.

Oh buts it's JP Duminy OMG OMG OMG :p Yeah, there was an overrated summer. Steyn was the man who took all the pressure in that series winning partnership and apart from that Duminy was quite ordinary against the pace of Mitch J.

Razzaq surely must be better than one of the top 7 batsmen Pakistan currently have. And his bowling would be clearly better.

Faisal Iqbal must be out along with Farhat.
Mansoor must play as a opener,he is a sound a guy except his feet movement:D
Fawad must play as a Middle order batsman and he will also act as a 6 bowling option.

@aussie1st Razzaq is far more better with bat and also as allrounder he will not a loss at all.

Razzaq is a very, very average bowler in test cricket. He's also very, very average with the bat, averaging under 30 after 46 tests. Would be a pretty poor selection if he was picked.

I would have given Alam a chance instead of Faisal Iqbal. Even with relatively good technique Faisal has shown that he is a failure (26 tests with 27 average confirms it). While Fawad has been the most dedicated Pakistani players in the last 5 years. Average above 40s in tests and ODI's and 32 in T20s. Plus he is handy with the ball as well. And is the best fielder in the team by miles. I would have him in the team just for the 200% he gives for the team. and the talk about technique is thrown out of the window as highlighted by Chanderpaul's career. (Fawad Alam's technique is very similar)

After watching the highlights of the MCG match, I am amazed how much curve and dip Hauritz got with his over-spinners.

And that wicket of the skip wasn't just the luck and the hopeless position of Pakistan, it was a great bit of bowling and the ball was unplayable.

Well that's Pakistan cricket for you.

Not like Alam was going to get a game anyway.

Changes I expect tomorrow: Kaneria in for Ajmal, Gul/Sami in for Rauf.

Everybody else will in all likeliness be retained, unfortunately. All the Pakistani batsmen made starts in that game, from #1 to #7 atleast once in 2 innings, so they just need to learn how to convert.

Fair play to Iqbal though, that ball he got was a 'jaffa' - Hauritz finally found out how to spin the ball.
