I was wondering how long it will be until the first Brian Lara International Cricket Patch would be released. I think it would be disrespectful to the game if it was within the week of release. I was thinking about a Month. I intend to become a big person editing Brian Lara International Cricket.

Depends how good it is, and how easy it is to edit- for example if kits were simply saved in their own directory, or they supplied us with editing tools (extremely unlikely), then you'd expect minor patches very quickly

to early to tell! What IF the game is perfect unlike Cricket 2004.

well, nothin in this world is perfect, 1stly there r no domestic teams, so patches could b made 4 that etc.!

I'm not going to say the game is perfect! It'll be good but even I always err on the side of caution, just in case.

We usually do a release day patch for games - not great really but it's something we do. As for unofficial patches, that's up to you lot and not me!

I would like to see it a bit easier to edit so we spend less time working out how to do something and more time doing it. Know what I mean?

Yes, but games companies aren't going to purposely make games easily editable as its their product.

User created mods can in many cases keep a game alive, I'd think that it's advantageous if anything to get extra features added to your product for free.

Oh I agree entirely, but I don't think they would purposely make a game easy to edit just for that, but you never know, they might in this case.

Infact, that's what kept BLC 99 alive for such a long period of time (such that some people are still buying it).

If Codemasters/Swordfish purposely make the game very difficult to edit, they're just reducing the shelf life of their own product. Now, this could be reasonable for a product like the FIFA series of games, where there are regular updates from the manufacturers. But cricket games have not yet shown any regular trends (remember, BLIC is being released six years after BLC 99) and thus it would be a stupid decision to make the game hard to edit.
