no offence American football, and darts suck...

Darts is a game of great skill and timing and although some people dont enjoy every event gets sold out. But its more of a common mans game

It's more of a sport than wrsetling, either way I find it hard to take the fact Phil Taylor is our most successful sportsman, is Tom Brady the one that rapes dogs?

American football is probably the most exciting sport behind football. Seriously if you guys actually watched and appreciated it then you would see how good some of the players are. Tom Brady again had a huge week, deffo has to stay!

Yeh, but Trev, you fail to remember that a select few people on these forums dont respect any sports that arent played by England. I definetly respect Brady's performances, NFL is a fantastic sport to watch, well it would be if it wasnt for all the ad breaks. The NFL and NBA catch up shows on Sky Sports are a good watch though. NFL is a massively entertaining sport, and Bradys definetly achieved more in the past year than Beckham, McRae and Barry.

Also, James Wade has had a great year in Darts, its a sport of great skill and nerve. Its extremely hot in the arenas, the lights are excruciatingly bright and the crowd are manic, i think its brilliant that the top players can keep their heads and play consistently good darts. James Wade has been brilliant this year, probably out played Barneveld and Taylor this year.

American football most definitely isn't exciting, it might be a very good sport, I can't stand the stop-start nature of it and I don't have 7 hours free to watch it as a neutral. Anything that takes a whole day to play just 1 hour just isn't exciting.

Darts lol I can watch it but its not exactly tiring

A game si just 3 hours long. If you actually watched it then you would see it's very exciting. It is a sport you need a bit of time for. When a field goal is needed to win the game and it hits the post and bounces out, it creates a great atmosphere and tremendous excitement. For someone to lead a team that is unbeaten for as long a period the Patriots are, it's a huge achievement in any sport!

I have watched it. Even so 1 minute of action every 3 minutes isn't really good enough and I was under the impression that people spent the whole day watching the superbowl. Anyway any sport that lacks an international version can't be too attractive to the neutral.

Yeah, problem is only a few countries actually play American Football. England, Germany and obviously the states. If it was promoted out a bit more maybe an international competition could be possible in 10 or so years. But the important thing we are talking about here is the performance of Tom Brady. And it has been incredible no matter how much you like the sport. He has done just a good a job if not better than all the other people on that list!

nah thats mike vick... i have a jersey with his name on... dont wear it anymore... not cool what he did

my mate, on the other hand, worshipped him and has about 12 jerseys (no 2 the same) all with vick on the back

havent seen him in his recently lol

would've thought beckham would get more votes than brady, i have to say

Yes, but again, certain people dont respect the achievements of those that partake in sports that dont interest them. I'm not a rugby union fan, but i know that what Bryan Habana achieved in the world cup, equalling a record held by Jonah Lomu is no mean feat. I had a proper look at what the sportsmen had acheived this year, and judged it on that, the fair way. The sportsmen that have achieved the least this year have been McRae and Beckham. Again, it was sad that McRae died, and he is a big loss to the sport of rally driving, but the last time he won the world title was in 95, therefore not deserving of being in the voting imo. The Beckham, went off searching for money in a mickey mouse league, whoever nominated him, and then the person who 2nd that nomination are planks. Had a dissapointing year as far as i'm concerned. Doesnt mean i dont think hes still a massively talented footballer though, he just didnt achieve anything major this year.

Beckham has no right to be anywhere near Tom Brady. What the hell has beckham done? Whoopdeedo he set up a few goals in a campaign we failed in. Also why is gareth Barry there when he was part of a losing team. he may have played well but compared to some of the guys he ahs done nothing.

And I loved Vick. An amazing QB. He was so quick it was unbelievable. But what he did is just stupid. Dog fighting and smoking marijuana, very not cool!
