PlanetCricket World XI

Please choose your TWO opening batsmen for the PlanetCricket World XI.

  • Total voters
    40
  • Poll closed .
Jeez, Pixel, calm down. If Watson gets voted in, as it looks like he will, then we will already have an allrounder. However, the plan was to have a vote on:

- The two openers (underway)
- Numbers 3 - 5 (batsmen)
- Number 6 (allrounder)
- Number 7 (keeper)
- The spinner
- Three seamers

Is it just me or the poll is showing wrong results? 5 persons have voted Strauss, but the count reads 4. Same with Sehwag, Tamim, Katich and Smith.

That is good....

P.S: I was pissed off coz how come you not include Sangakkara as a keeper ? It doesn't matter that he has given up the gloves now? Keeping to Murali is not easy thing. Some people just wanna saw bs rather than posting constructively to the thread. When i posted facts they were:o

My 3 middle order player would be :

3) Ricky Ponting : I would have gone with Dravid but needed a attacking player at number 3 for my team.

4) Sachin Tendulkar: No explanation required.

5)VVS Laxman or Mike Hussey: Both have performed extremely well. I might prefer VVS for his ability to play match winning knocks and thrive in pressure.

It kinda does. Lara gave up batting a few years ago, we aren't picking him on that anymore are we?

What can i say, Laxman's batting has a charm :p. Hussey is equally effect but doesn't have same flair. So it really comes down to every member's preference. Some would pick Hussey and some VVS

^ Yup. You are spot on. For all three formats Hussey owuld have win the votes by a large margin but in test it is very even

Laxman is far better than Hussey is tests.

In limited overs cricket, Hussey is better. :)

Number 3 is gonna be tough. Amla/Sanga/Ponting/Dravid all fighting for same place.

Shane Watson
Virender Sehwag
Kumar Sangakkara
Sachin Tendulkar
Jacques Kallis
AB De Villiers
+ MS Dhoni
Graeme Swann
