Semifinals and Final

Sreesanth is a bit of an idiot, but a birlliant idiot.

I think we should drop Joginder, but it is a bit too late now. If we wanted to see which of the two were better, we should have played Yusuf earlier in the tourney. Now it would be a bit of a risk.
But yea, Joginder isn't a T20 bowler. Maybe it is a risk worth taking? Yusuf Pathan does have T20 experience...

BTW: Yusuf bowls spin. Spinners do well in T20. He is also a lethal bat.

Oh my god...What a fantastic performance was from the Indian team!! I think Sreesanth's bowling was the major difference in the match!

We are in the FINALS!!:happy

Now I just want to laugh at Hogg's comments

http://www.rediff.com/cricket/2007/sep/22aus.htm

That guy was an idiot (sorry for using the word, but had to!). He thinks talking that way would demoralise the confidence of the Indians and would set it up well for Australia. But doesnt he know by now that these sort of comments charge the Indians up and make them perform better than their best? One example is the way Sachin delivers with his bat when someone comments in a controversial way about him (e.g. Akthar and Caddick in the 2003 WC).

Those former bowlers could have done India a big service by talking that way

Why do you think anyone likes the Saffas? :p

India are most likely to stick with Joginder, they wouldn't want to play anyone in the finals who hasn't played previously in the tournament.

I like South African Team, because when I started following this game, when I was 9, in 1996. .i liked their spirit and enjoyed watching them play. When I used to play(local tournaments). .i used to have same spirit and attitude. I've always loved their attitude towards the game. I love watching them more than India.

It doesn't always have to be like we have to support country or team that we are from. I always supported SA, when they were down, when they lost Cronje, 99 semi-final, 96 lost to WI. .I've rarely missed their matches, i've missed lots n lots of matches of India.

It is a different feeling and I always would support RSA :)

Right. Getting quite sick of this. Who are you, or anyone for that matter, to tell him who he has to like and support in the game of cricket or football.

Come off it already! Its getting old.

Ok, I apologize because I was a bit over the top saying that way. But that guy comes up with some really nonsense arguments just to defend Australia and degrade India's performance. He could also keep his mouth shut.

Ian Chappel always looks at something in Indian cricket to criticize.
Why doesn't he say something about his own team, which got knocked out by INDIA.
Just noticed that Adarsh and I are almost equal in terms of posts ;)

Why blame only Ian Chappel? Blame Mike Atherton also. Before the start of this tournament he regarded the indians as the WEAKLINGS. According to him India?s best days are behind them. According to him India is a poor side.
Mr Atherton please oil your own machine. Say something about your own team, which got knocked out by INDIA.

HURRAH for "TEAM INDIA", They have made atherton eat his words

India were given $1 million for their win over Australia from the BCCI.

Yuvraj was also given a Porsche following his six sixes off Stuart Broad, it is a gift from Lalit Modi.

I doubt this fine will mean anything after that:

The BCCI have started it. Now I hope Dhoni works overtime to keep the boys down to the ground. Why do these people announce all this before we win the silverware?

However, I am confident that Dhoni would work really hard to ensure that the boys dont float from all these freebies and forget abt the all important goal tomorrow. Dhoni has attracted me heavily as a captain and I see great promise in him for the future. Similar to what happened when I saw Saurav Ganguly captain India in his first ODI series against South Africa where we won 3-2. I am not comparing Dhoni to Saurav, but just comparing the way I felt at the beginning when I saw these two captains.

In the final over all the pressure was on the Aussies. And remember Jogindar got away because when he came to bowl Brett Lee was batting, not the big hitters like Symonds or Hayden.

I tend to disagree a bit here, Joginder bowled his first 2 deliveries to Hussey, who is a top player (Mr. Cricket).

And Symonds and Hayden can hit any bowler out of the park be Joginder or Pathan or Zaheer or if possible Brett Lee.

What about Nazir ;) once he start firing, Sreesanth will forget his length and line :laugh like we did in WC 2003 final :p

Like WE did? who is this WE?

I just hope that that dumbass Sreesanth keeps his mouth shut tomorrow.
The way he was staring at Matty Hayden yesterday, brought back the painful memories of Zaheer Khan's first over confrontation in 2003 World Cup Final.

We are playing Pakistan tomorrow. Both teams tend to take a lot of pressure. If we have pressure on us, Pakistan could also have the same thing. In 2003, The Aussies were well equipped to handle the barrage thrown on them by Zaheer. I dont expect Pakistan to handle it the same way.

He values his place in the team. And to bowl for India is not a small thing.I like his aggression and whatever he does as long as he is getting wickets and bowling well there is no problem. If players like Mcgrath,Lee,Akhtar shows aggression then you wont complain.

Yeah, quite right. As long as he doesnt cross the line, its OK. Over-appealing wasnt a good thing and he got fined deservedly for it. I wont say his reactions to Hayden were too bad. Lot of bowlers have done such thing after they get the wicket they value the most.

You have missed a major and big/dominating reply to Ian Chappel's meaningless interruption :p Compared to this guy's words, those Akthar/Caddick's words seemed to be very minor.

Though, Aussies have been knocked out by India, we have plenty and plenty of works to do against Aussies series later this year. Remember, this is just Twenty20.. Team's or Player's performances cannot be judged by this series alone. Both the teams played well yesterday to be honest. So probably, there is much nothing to say about Aussies i guess.

Let this final finish first!

He often ends up with overdoing things for pace. He just needs some control while bowling and it will do the trick. He definitely have loads of talents. Also still, i can't believe the way RP has bowled in this series. Have to wait and see his real performance in long overs of the game. ( i.e, in 50 Overs ).

It's all well and good being like him when you're getting wickets which he is but if you get carted around (which I hope will happen) no-one feels the least bit of sympathy.

He doesnt need sympathy. He too knows what kind of a character he is and about his temperament. Thats why he keeps giving himself those inspirational advices everytime he goes back to his bowling mark. He will surely bounce back if he gets carted around. I think people find it a bit more odd because its coming from an Indian.

Dont u know what I mean by WE or u trying forget that incident :laugh

Which incident? Sorry sir, I am not as sharp as you in memory:(

IMO Pakistani bowling kills Indian bowling, can't say anything about battting though.

Actually, England were already out.

In general, if people from India refer " WE" while speaking, its meant to be Indians by default.

I am not against the supporting of Aussie team.. Infact, i equally like India, SA and NZ. Its always better to use the team name instead of just saying, "WE". Just because you support Australia or SA or any country other than India, it doesn't mean that your nationality gets changed and which is what your posts, " We did this " " we did that " implies.

IMO Pakistani bowling kills Indian bowling, can't say anything about battting though.

I think, i have to get agree with this. I always used to say, India bowling is of poor standards.( Sai is going to curse me for this :p )

But in recent matches, they have proved me wrong. The bowler which i hated the most was RP Singh and he seems to be a trump card. I was also impressed with Pathan's deliveries other day. Overall, i was shocked/suprised/excited to see Indian bowling winning the games for India in last few matches. :)

Both of them India and Pakistan are equally good. Since world cup , they produced pretty similar results, like exiting from the world cup in similar fashion, then getting hammered by the fans at home, sending young side, new young captain, topping corresponding groups e and f, qualifying for finals, also had a tie.

Now it will be a really good contest tomorrow and hope we are not disappointed. .and may the best team win. good luck to both the teams.

and yes, i believe both teams will go with same combination as it was in the semi-finals :)
