New Zealand have rested Williamson, Latham, Southee, Daryl and Conway after the WC and Test Series, naming Santner as the captain for the ODIs. In their absence, Chad Bowes, Foxcroft, Nicholls and Allen get call-ups from outside the WC group. With Boult and Neesham only playing ICC events, and Henry injured, the squad features a second-string pace attack lead by Lockie Ferguson and the returning Kyle Jamieson, while Sodhi remains the lone specialist spinner.

Bangladesh name a 17-man team for the ODIs lead by Shakib, that largely retains it's core from the WC squad, only omitting Mahedi and Mahmudullah in NZ's pace friendly conditions. The team misses Taskin Ahmed due to injury, resulting in a recall for Mohd. Saifuddin. Saif Hassan and Parvez Hossain's inclusions strengthen the batting, based on their good domestic seasons, while Afif and Mosaddek Hossain also make comebacks to the squad as spin all-rounders for the middle-order.

1st ODI

Live from University Oval, Dunedin

Shakib, Bangladesh skipper says it is good to be here. The World Cup was a forgettable campaign but it's time to move on. Says they have a clear picture of the core that is forming for the next few years. Missing Taskin who will hopefully be back for T20Is, but we have the pacers to cover for him. Saif Hassan will be opening alongside Liton today after some good domestic performances, and Afif Hossain also makes a return to the side.

:ban: Bangladesh: Liton Das, Saif Hassan, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shakib Al Hasan :c:, Towhid Hridoy, Mushfiqur Rahim :wk:, Afif Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Hasan Mahmud, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam

Santner says it's good to be taking over the captaincy for this series. That they have got a rather fringe team and this will help them reshape the core going forward. Will miss Kane and the others, but we are still a strong unit. Finn Allen returns to the opening spot after his domestic performances. Jacob Duffy and Jamieson will be the two pacers along with Lockie today, making their return to the side as well. This will be a good contest

:nzf: New Zealand: Finn Allen, Rachin Ravindra, Henry Nicholls, Will Young, Mark Chapman, Glenn Phillips, Tom Blundell :wk:, Mitchell Santner :c:, Kyle Jamieson, Jacob Duffy, Lockie Ferguson

:nzf: New Zealand to bat first

1st Innings
1701454390556.png1701454414753.png

The Black Caps put on a commanding show in Dunedin by scoring 318/4, off a brilliant century from in-form man Rachin Ravindra. The rest of the middle order all make handy equal contributions including an acceleration from Glenn Phillips towards the end to help them cross 300.

Mehidy Miraz takes the first 2 wickets for Bangladesh followed by Shoriful Islam who finishes with a solitary one. Rest of the bowlers are wicketless and also rather expensive as this has been a solid innings from the New Zealand batters. Bangladesh will need 319 to win at 6.38 RPO.

2nd Innings
1701454582336.png1701454594668.png

In an almost single-handed effort from Najmul Hossain Shanto, Bangladesh crawl to 244 before they are bowled out in the 49th over. Shanto remains unbeaten on 122* being the only man to even cross 40 runs, having carried Bangladesh who were otherwise miserable with the bat today. Nobody assisted him except Shoriful to some extent struggling down at 11, and his wicket ended the innings to result in a steep loss.

Lockie Ferguson does his job well as the spearhead of the pace attack with 4 wickets, while Jamieson returns with economical figures of 2 for just 27 off his 10. Santner takes the other 3 including the winning wicket as the captain leads from the front. New Zealand have done well to destroy the entire Bangladesh batting bar a fighting Shanto to take a 1-0 lead in the home series.

:nzf: New Zealand won 74 runs

New Zealand lead series 1-0

1701454907217.png

For his brilliant ton at the top that was instrumental to NZ's big total, and a handy 4-run over with the ball, Rachin Ravindra gets the MOTM in the 1st ODI.

2nd ODI

Live from Saxton Oval, Nelson

The Kiwis have gone 1-0 up in the ODI series, can the Tigers hit back today and level things here in their strongest format?

Shakib says that the last game was a disappointing performance with the bat. But this is a new day and a new game. 1 change in the team, Tanzim Hasan replaces Hasan Mahmud in the XI. He has shown some potential in the few games he's played and we feel he will be great in NZ conditions. We are sticking with the rest of the side and backing them to do well as this is our strongest XI. Hopefully the batters find better form today.

:ban: Bangladesh: Liton Das, Saif Hassan, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shakib Al Hasan :c:, Towhid Hridoy, Mushfiqur Rahim :wk: , Afif Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Tanzim Hasan Sakib , Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam
(Changes: Tanzim Hasan Sakib , Hasan Mahmud )

Santner says that was a good performance last game to start things off with a win. Says the batting has done well and it's nice to see the Bench Strength perform with Kane, Conway and Mitchell rested. Just a change in the bowling, Duffy goes out and Shipley comes in. Shipley has been decent in ODIs and did well in a couple of tours with a fringe bowling lineup. We will plan to rotate our quicks like this, will be nice to see what he can offer.

:nzf: New Zealand: Finn Allen, Rachin Ravindra, Henry Nicholls, Will Young, Mark Chapman, Glenn Phillips, Tom Blundell :wk: , Mitchell Santner :c:, Kyle Jamieson, Henry Shipley  , Lockie Ferguson
(Changes: Henry Shipley , Jacob Duffy )

:nzf: New Zealand to bat first

1st Innings

1701520911017.png1701520992573.png

New Zealand have made a respectable score of 276, featuring a Finn Allen fifty at the top and a top score of 78 from Will Young, which is then followed by a partnership between Blundell and Santner towards the end that helps them push for a 270+ score, on a rather tough wicket.

The inclusion of Tanzim Sakib has done wonders for Bangladesh as he has scalped 4 wickets for 48 in his 10 overs, featuring both the openers and the dangerous Phillips. Bangladesh would be happy with this bowling performance compared to the previous game. They need 277 runs to win at 5.54 RPO.

2nd Innings

1701521260937.png1701521274047.png

Bangladesh, in response, make the wicket look so much easier to bat on. With another Shanto masterclass of 92 and a good knock from Saif Hassan at the top, Bangladesh chase down the score with 4 overs to spare, Hridoy and Mushfiqur scoring the winning runs in a partnership of 72

The Black Caps bowling was a let-down compared to last game and leak too many runs in the chase. Lockie again tops the chart but with 2 wickets for an expensive 6.86 RPO. Jamieson also gets hit at 7 an over for his one wicket and Shipley picks 1 for 53 in his 9. Overall, they failed to break the partnerships and prevent the Tigers from getting comfortable in the chase.

:ban: Bangladesh won by 6 wickets

Series Tied 1-1

1701521510667.png

Najmul Hossain Shanto gets the MOTM for his well-made 92 that helps Bangladesh claim victory, after his lone effort in the 1st ODI which ended up in the losing side

3rd ODI

Live from McLean Park, Napier

The Series heads into it's decider after Bangladesh's comeback in the 2nd ODI. Can the hosts take the win or can the visitors use their momentum to win a historic away ODI series?

Shakib the Bangladeshi captain applauds the team for their performance in the last game - We assessed the conditions well and delivered. Tanzim did very well with the ball, and Shanto was again brilliant with the bat. That was a solid performance. For this ODI, one team change as Mosaddek replaces Afif at No. 7. Just trying things out in the middle-order. We hope to make history by winning and taking home this ODI trophy.

:ban: Bangladesh: Liton Das, Saif Hassan, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shakib Al Hasan :c:, Towhid Hridoy, Mushfiqur Rahim :wk: , Mosaddek Hossain , Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam
(Changes: Mosaddek Hossain , Afif Hossain )

Santner says the bowling let them down a bit last game and maybe they could have made a little more runs than they did. Anyway, there are 2 team changes. Phillips has been rested, he has been playing a lot since the WC. Foxcroft will come into the XI at 7. He played one game before the WC in Bangladesh. And another bowling rotation as Jamieson goes out and Blair Tickner comes in for him. Hope to fix the previous game's errors today and not give the series away.

:nzf: New Zealand: Finn Allen, Rachin Ravindra, Henry Nicholls, Will Young, Mark Chapman, Tom Blundell :wk: , Dean Foxcroft , Mitchell Santner :c:, Henry Shipley, Blair Tickner , Lockie Ferguson
(Changes: Dean Foxcroft & Blair Tickner , Glenn Phillips & Kyle Jamieson )

:ban: Bangladesh to bat first

1st Innings
1701672434731-png.287728
1701672844444.png

With Captain Shakib leading from the front, stranded on 96*, Bangladesh make it to a respectable 258/8. The less said about the rest of the batting, the better. Das and Shanto got going for a bit, but couldn't get past 40 runs. Shakib nearly got a ton, but got stranded just 4 runs before.

Santner leads from the front too for the Kiwis with 4 wickets for just 30 runs off his brilliant 10-over spell. Each of the 3 pacers take a wicket each as well. But it was Santner's brilliance which primarily helps NZ keep the visitors to a modest 258. Need 259 to win at a RRR of 5.18

2nd Innings
1701673135834.png1701673748340.png

After a timid start from the NZ openers, a brilliant partnership between Nicholls and Young sets the chase up for the Kiwis, Nicholls falling short of a century by just 5 runs. Chapman and Foxcroft are then left to finish things off which they do quite comfortably, leading NZ to a series win.

There wasn't much to say about Bangladesh's mediocre bowling except Shoriful's peculiar economical spell of just 21 runs off 8 overs, which however did not feature any wicket. The rest of the bowlers were smashed and thus Bangladesh failed to defend the score and take the series.

:nzf: New Zealand won by 5 wickets

New Zealand win series 2-1

1701674074797.png

Henry Nicholls' handy 95 coming after the loss of 2 quick wickets helped NZ steer home comfortably in the chase. And for that, he gets the MOTM for the game.

New Zealand clinch the ODI trophy 2-1 with their depleted squad, after a brilliant show in the 3rd game to pull things back.

Will Young gets the POTS in a series where batters flourished. But his stellar consistency of 197 runs in 3 games @ 65.67 topped it all, winning the series for NZ at the end.

1st T20I

Live from McLean Park, Napier

It's the first T20I for both the sides in a while and in preparation for the T20 World Cup. NZ is back full-strength and so are Bangladesh. Who takes the lead here at Napier again today?

Shakib, the new T20I captain for Bangladesh, says the spirit was good in the ODI series and that they fought well. The conditions have never been easy but we have learnt to adapt. Now onto the T20s- it's good to have Taskin back as he adds a lot of strength to the pace attack. Rony Talukdar will bat at the top today, he's shown that he can play well in the shortest format. Hope we win games this series and build a proper core for the T20 WC.

:ban: Bangladesh: Liton Das :wk:, Rony Talukdar, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shakib Al Hasan :c: , Towhid Hridoy, Afif Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taskin Ahmed, Nasum Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam

Williamson says it's good to be back in the shortest format, with a full-strength side. They are building a good team for the T20 World Cup and are excited to try some players out this series in the process. Mitchell, Conway and Southee are also back in the side today. Hope to continue the form from the ODI series, and win another one for the home crowd here at Napier.

:nzf: New Zealand: Finn Allen, Devon Conway :wk:, Kane Williamson :c:, Daryl Mitchell, Mark Chapman, Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, Ish Sodhi, Lockie Ferguson, Benjamin Lister

:ban: Bangladesh to bat first

1st Innings
1701859852530.png1701859878275.png

Liton Das stars with the bat today for Bangladesh with a superb knock of 80 (55). That, along with a final flourish knock of 33* (15) from Shakib at the death, helps lift Bangladesh to a solid score of 171/3 on a decent wicket for batting

The Black Caps spinners were smashed all around today as Santner and Sodhi go at 12 and 9.5 RPO respectively. Southee and Ferguson however return economical spells at 6 an over with a wicket each, in a pitch that seems to support the pacers heavily. They will now need 172 runs to win at a RR of 8.6

2nd Innings
1701860201399.png1701860267473.png

In response, New Zealand kick off to a quick start before Finn Allen is dismissed for his usual fast cameo. But Conway and Williamson stick around for a hundred partnership, featuring fifties from both of them, which ensures the chase is completed comfortably and in style, after their respective dismissals.

The Bangladeshi bowlers were all expensive barring Mustafizur, who also takes one wicket. Mehidy gets the other 2 wickets but goes for 26 runs off his 2 overs, while the rest of the bowling fails to prove effective against a strong NZ batting on a good batting surface. NZ go one up in style.

:nzf: New Zealand won by 7 wickets

New Zealand lead Series 1-0

Devon Conway wins the MOTM award for his brilliant 71(41) this game in a crucial partnership with his captain that propels NZ to victory in the chase

2nd T20I

Live from Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui

NZ go up 1-0 in the series in Napier, but we move onto the final leg in Mt. Maungaunui. Can Bangladesh pull off an upset in their weaker format, or do NZ nail in the series win today?

Shakib, Bangladeshi skipper, says the last game they batted quite well, but could have bowled better to not let NZ get away with chasing it down. But happy with how we have adjusted to these conditions. So just one change in the XI, Mahedi Hasan replaces Nasum. We want to rotate our spinners. Mahedi can also provide some batting which can save us if we lose a few too many wickets. So hopefully we capitalize on our strengths and the good batting performances and win today.

:ban: Bangladesh: Liton Das :wk: , Rony Talukdar, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shakib Al Hasan :c: , Towhid Hridoy, Afif Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mahedi Hasan , Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam
(Changes: Mahedi Hasan , Nasum Ahmed )

Williamson says that was a great show in the previous game and it shows that the team has a solid core. We'd wanna keep testing more of our players to look at our depth. So we have got 2 changes today, Rachin Ravindra comes in for Santner who has been rested. Ben Lister goes out for Jacob Duffy as we rotate our pace options. Rachin has been phenomenal across other formats, will be good to see what he can offer in the T20s as we build for the next year's WC. His form has been great and hope he can translate that here and it makes us more confident about the depth of options in the team as well. Hope we can also clinch the series today.

:nzf: New Zealand: Finn Allen, Devon Conway :wk: , Kane Williamson :c: , Daryl Mitchell, Mark Chapman, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra  , Tim Southee, Ish Sodhi, Jacob Duffy , Lockie Ferguson

:ban: Bangladesh to bat first

1st Innings
1701949837543.png1701949851330.png

Bangladesh produce an absolutely beastly batting performance on a seemingly flat surface. Liton Das stars again, unbeaten on 93* while his partner Talukdar goes for a destructive 84 as well. The opening stand lasts 180 runs and almost the entire innings, before Shanto comes in and scores a handy cameo of 19* (10) to propel them to a massive 199.

The NZ bowlers were absolutely unable to break the opening stand until Daryl Mitchell's caught and bowled towards the end. They were overall miserable, everyone being expensive and going for more than 8 an over including seniors like Lockie going for 50 off his 4. 200 to chase for the Kiwis at exactly 10 an over.

2nd Innings
1701951917525.png1701951938319.png

In response, NZ end up coming very close- But an extremely slow innings from Finn Allen, who faces 42 balls to just miss out on a fifty by 1 run, derails the chase from the beginning itself. Conway and Williamson also fail to score runs today as that also proves detrimental in the chase. The recovery partnership from Phillips and Chapman were not enough to cover for the damage done.

Mustafizur starred for Bangladesh with both the openers' wickets to finish for a brilliant spell of 2/25 in his 4 overs, in a run-scoring game. Taskin and Shoriful also got wickets and returned decent economies compared to the spinners who were targeted. But at the end, the bowling performance proves to be sufficient for Bangladesh to narrowly take this game.

:ban: Bangladesh won by 9 runs

Series Tied 1-1

1701952673659.png

Liton Das is the Man of the Match for his incredible 93* (58) that tore the NZ bowling apart and helped Bangladesh post a big enough score to defend and win the game.

3rd T20I

Live from Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui

Bangladesh bounced back in Mt. Maunganui in the 2nd game to level the series. Can the Kiwis prevent an upset series win or can the Tigers make history?? The Decider is here

Shakib says the last game was a great performance and even more of an example about their improvements especially in the batting aspect. The openers were excellent and the bowlers did great in tough conditions to prevent a loss. A few changes today as we are trying out things, Afif, Mahedi and Shoriful Islam miss out. Mosaddek, Hasan Mahmud and Nasir Hossain will come in. The latter is returning after a long time to the national side. We hope to carry the form and pull off a historic series win away from home.

:ban: Bangladesh: Liton Das :wk: , Rony Talukdar, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shakib Al Hasan :c: , Towhid Hridoy, Mosaddek Hossain , Nasir Hossain , Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud
(Changes: Mosaddek Hossain, Nasir Hossain & Hasan Mahmud , Afif Hossain, Mahedi Hasan & Shoriful Islam  )

Williamson says the last game was something they should've won and their slow start costed them. But really happy with how some of the players are delivering. 2 changes for this game, Lockie is rested and Ben Lister comes back for him. Finn Allen goes out for Dean Foxcroft, and Rachin moves to the opener spot. Very excited to see what he can offer at the top after his ODI performances in the WC. We should win this game if we play to our strengths. Bangladesh have been really good and they aren't a team to underestimate.

1st Innings

1702224174153.png1702224189111.png

Bangladesh start off slow and steadily with Rony Talukdar going onto make a 47-ball 55 in a slow opening stand. But the partnership of 76 runs between Shanto and Shakib that followed help them accelerate and push to a strong 172/2, with Shanto missing out on his fifty by just a run

Lister picks up a wicket for an economical 25 runs off his 4 while the other wicket went to Duffy. Southee was expensive as the rest of the bowlers were ineffective in getting the wickets, and breaking the game-changing partnership of Shakib and Shanto. NZ now need 173 to win, at an 8.65 RR.

2nd Innings

1702224528886.png1702224543508.png

New Zealand lose both openers cheaply as Rachin fails in his first T20I as opener. But a composed innings from Williamson that holds on one end, while Daryl Mitchell goes absolutely bonkers to score a 45 ball 94* on the other end, rescues the Kiwis in no time to take them to a brilliant victory in the chase.

Taskin remains the only wicket taker for Bangladesh as him and Mustafizur are also the only economical quicks in the team. All the spinners barring Mehidy were hammered, including Mosaddek who goes for 17 runs off his over. Off the bat of Daryl Mitchell, Bangladesh go down again after a series levelling win.

Bangladesh may have lost the series, but Liton Das walks away with the MOTS. 198 runs at an average of 99.00, striking at 144.5. He truly outperformed everyone with the bat in a high run-scoring series.

Batters dominated in all the games clearly, Tanzim was close but Shanto was too good in the chase. Idk why C19 was mercilessly against bowling in the NZ-BAN Series.

Will Young gets the POTS in a series where batters flourished. But his stellar consistency of 197 runs in 3 games @ 65.67 topped it all, winning the series for NZ at the end.

Damn cricket 19 predicted real life . Also got the score line right and the coincidence of Tanzim Sakib performing in his first game in the series which Bangladesh end up winning
