Story Twenty20 World Championship 2007 by Gamerkid22,Treva,!x!Culli!x!. Game 1:SA v WI

Good read boys. I think Hodge might be more of a threat than David Hussey.

This group will go
Aus
England
Zim.

Thanks for your wonderful comments guys :cheers .

oh my god, where is straussm,
well its looking good cant wait for the games
Strauss is in poor form, as a result of which Ali Brown gets a chance to play for England .

Coming Up : Group C squads .

Great story so far, as good as i expected.

Nice choice of squad for England, Benning and Brown have to play, Vaughan and Tresco are dodgy choices imo. Shah and Rikki Clarke would have been better choices, with KP as captain tbh. I reckon England will win the group though. It will be close.

Predicta contest:
Bangladesh
West Indies
South Africa

England
Australia
Zimbabwe

This looks to be great. i can not wait.

Group A
South Africa
West Indies
Bangladesh

Group B
Australia
Egnland

Group C Preview

The dark horses, the improvers and the one day specialists all will battle it out in Group C. New Zealand come in as some what of dark horses. They have some big players that can get results. But with captain Fleming retiring from ODI's the team will have to get used to a new leader. Vettori is the man to lead the Black Caps and hopefully to victory in this first Twenty20 World Championship. Sri Lanka come in as massive contenders for the title. With many quality batsman and bowlers they have almost the perfect team for this competition. Getting to the final of the World Cup gave the team a massive boost going into 2007. If they can produce their best form then they will seriously contend for the title. Kenya are one probably the best of the minnows. With a pretty strong side compared to the likes of Scotland and Zimbabwe, they may cause a surprise in this group. With only the top 2 going through they may think that if they can get one surprise, they may be able to sneak into the 2nd stage. Tikolo a experienced campaigner will look to captain his side to some good performances.

Game of the Group

It has to be the game between New Zealand and Sri Lanka at Johannasberg. With it being the 2nd to last game in the group stage of the tournament it could prove a big game for both sides. If Kenya can produce a surprise victory against one of the sides it could prove a game to decide the two sides fate. Sri Lanka go into the tournament as group favourites but the dark horses of New Zealand could easily produce a victory against them. Could be a lot of fireworks from both sides and we suspect a nail-biting finish. Shown live on Sky Sports 1.

Players to look out for

Ravi Shah - A superb striker of the ball with great talent. After showing the world what he can do at the World Cup he may have another point to prove in trying to help his side cause some corncern for other teams. With over 50 One Day International caps for Kenya he is a very experienced customer who can take control of this middle order and produce runs. If bowlers do not get rid of him early he may cause lots of problems for the opposition and is certainly one to look out for.

Ross Taylor - A very young and promising talent who has cemented his place in the New Zealand line-up. A fluent stroke maker who can score boundaries easily. A player who scores quick by nature and in the 20/20 format he will certainly score fast. With the crucial slot at number 3 or 4 he is an important player for New Zealand and I'm sure he will not disappoint all of the Black Cap fans willing him on.

Chamara Silva - Out of the three batsman to look out for, Silva has to be the most succesful in his short career in Sri Lankan colours. With over 750 One Day International runs already in just 24 innings he has shown his quality in such a short space of time. With some very solid performances against India and then in the World Cup, he has certainly showed the cricketing world his talent. If Silva peforms then Sri Lanka will also, and we could see some explosive hitting from Silva and the rest of the Sri Lankan team.

Predicted Group Standings

Sri Lanka 1st - 6 points
New Zealand 2nd - 3 points
Kenya 3rd - 0 points

Both are strong teams and have quality players . I will go for Lanka :)

Erm, Sorry, but Chamara Silva ? What about Lasith Malinga, Muttiah Muralitharan or Sanath Jayasuriya, 3 of the best one day players in the world game. Surely going to be better ones to watch than Chamara Silva. Apart from that its cracking work once more. KUTGW.

They are already well known. So they are already being watched

Otherwise I would have chosen Pietersen and Ponting/Hayden for England and Australia...

We all know what they are capable of, but the new talent is Chamara Silva and is a rising star so watch out for this player in this tournament .

Coming Up : Group D squads (India , Pakistan and Scotland)
