Story VB Series & Test Series.

England (user) and Pakistan head to Australia were they will both compete in the annual VB Series.
Each team plasy 8 ODI (50 OVERS) matches with the top 2 teams out of the group progressing to the finals. There will be 3 finals with the 3rd one only to be used if required.

The points system used in the VB Series is as follows.

Points system:
Win (with Bonus point) 5*
Win (Without bonus point) 4
Tie/No Result 2
Loss 0

*Bonus points:
To achieve a bonus points the batting team must achieve a runrate at 1.25 of that of the opposition. A teams runrate will be determind by the runs scored in an innings divided by the number of overs faced.

As you can see there are some big names missing from the squad such as A.Flintoff and D.Gough. However England annouced that these are not injuries they are just making way for other players to get a chance. The replacements are:

It will be i interesting to see whether any of these players make any further appearences i the VB Series.

England in Trouble as Bichel Destroys
UPDATE AFTER 15 OVERS
England 50/4 (15 overs)

-The 2 bastmen curently in trying to build a partnership

England are in serious trouble after A.Bichel takes 4 wickets in his opening 8 overs leaving England 50 for 4.
England started well reaching 16 for 0 with Trescothick and Strauss both hitting boundaries, however the collaspe started when Bichel Trapped Trescothic LBW.
LBW DECISION:

-Trescothick misses and his trapper right in front.

- Aleem Dar raises the finger so he must go.

-A pumped up Bichel celebrates with the first wicket 16-1.

At 16 for 1 England were in serious trouble but there was hope with Strauss looking in good form. Partnered by M.Vaughan, Englands captain things were not all over they just needed to build a partnership.
STRAUSS SHOWS SOME GOOD FORM

Andrew Strauss smashes it through the covers for 4.

-Now he pulls it for 4 more, he's looking in good form.

M.Vaughan, known more for his test match qualities comes to the crease in need of some runs for him self and his team. However some great bowling again from Bichell cut Vaughan hopes short when he went 2nd ball.
VAUGHAN DEPARTS FOR A DUCK

-First ball and Vaughan recieves a Jaffer.

-Micheal Vaughan plays to earlier hitting the ball slowly towards extra cover.

-A.Symonds takes a simple catch leaving England 17-2.

At the other end it look like England were heading for further problems when Kasprowicz gets a close LBW shout on Strauss, Luckly its turned down by Steve Bucknor.
CLOSE SHOUT:

-kasprowicz thinks hes got his man.

- A correct decision from the umpire as hawkeye shows it was missing.

However England nor Strauss were out of the woods when Bichel forces Strauss to play onto his stumps. England are in real trouble now with 3 wickets down and hardly any runs.
STRAUSS DEPARTS:

- Inside edge from Strauss as he plays on.

- Stump Cam provides a better view.

- Queensland celebrate again the loss of another English Wicket.

V.Solanki comes to the crease knowing that a good performance here could get him back into the squad for the VB Series. Whilst at the other end the famous K.Pietersen departs caught and bowled of Bichel his 4th wicket. 44-4. However Solanki shows he can bat smashing a 6 of his first ball.
SOLANKI'S 6

- A short bal which was meant to rough him goes for six.

- Shouts of 'Catch It!' are silenced as the ball sails into the crowd.

- Aleem Dar signals 6 runs much to Englands delight.

Now with the 15 overs nearly up it is Important that England rebuild and post a good target on this brilliant batting wicket, even more they should beware...

England at the half way mark are still in need of a partnership as they lose two more wickets in 10 overs. The first to go was V.Solanki who was unsettled by some wonderful bowling.
SOLANKI BECOMES UNSETTLED:

- A brilliant delivery flies past the outside edge.

- Solanki plays the square cut but only finds the edge.

- The ball edges agonisingly close to the stumps.

SOLANKI IS DISMISSED:

- Hawkeye shows he got struck right infront from a yorker.

- Umpire steve bucknor judges it to be out.

- Queensland celebrate as they take the 5th wicket.

England still yet to make any real partnership now have to rely on the young Matt Prior who is now the 2nd wicket keeper for England. A good knock here would definetly cement the 2nd wicket keeper spot to him.

-M.Prior makes his way out definelty nervous.

England now have Collingwood and Prior at the crease but both look unsettled with collingwood nearly edging one behind. However Australia broguht Kasporwicz back on and it would seem best for them to go after him.

-The Captian discusses his plans with his bowler.

- Kasporwicz currently has some good figures, will he get another wicket.

- The ball sails past Collingwoods bat, could have been edge.
