Which foreign player would complete your national side

Any 3 Australian U19 pace bowlers, anyone! That would be good to fill the gap of our bowling weakness. Or they will be wasted in reserves still because of the politics in selection. Damn, I am afraid of cricket now. :facepalm

Reason : We haven't produced even a single genuine fast bowler over a decade.:facepalm

New Zealand's main problem in test cricket is that we don't have a decent opening batsmen.

Kiwis just don't have any consistent batsmen. :sarcasm

Aussie U19 pacers aren't as good as ours, I believe. The politics, look its there in every part of the world. Every board in every country favors some players. Its not just here, its everywhere

We'll have an express pace bowler coming through the ranks soon. Don't worry :).

Agreed about NZ, btw :p

Well we do, we have a four, five and six that all average 40+. We just don't have a decent opener and we haven't for quite along time.

geeez post overload, look at the top 15 threads and all have you posting last in em.

Any quality pacer. Steyn, Johnson, Siddle..heck, even Mohammad Aamir would do a fine job! Apart from Zaheer, we hardly have a good seamer right now. And this is destabilizing our entire bowling lineup.

If I was a team from the subcontinent and needed a pace bowler I would prefer Asif over anyone at this moment. He relies on seam movement way more then swing and playing on pitches like the ones in this Sri Lanka/India series he would be more useful then a swing bowler like Steyn.

^^^ Steve Harmison or James Anderson in tests :clap

Jokes apart, I think Paulie Colly should be picked. Great with the bat, ball, field and the trap :p.

Surprised no one's mentioned him

@ KC... Nehra :D

RDF I dont think your getting the point of this thread. No point in posting random names unless you explain which team you'd want them on and for what reason.

on topic:

I think the two consensus picks so far are

Dale Steyn for one of Indias seamers (probably Sharma)

and

Daniel Vettori for Paul Harris

Well, Anderson coz he's got the record for the highest number of "non-duck" innings in Test cricket, decent fielder & great bowler. Harmy coz he averages a mere 114.5 at some pitch during the recent Ashes test, okay fielder and fast bowler.

As for Steyn, well he's not been the best bowler bowling in India. He's not really that threatening over here and if we play a home series with him around, I think its gonna be a risky thing. Nehra, because he's accurate, a good fielder and can be a handy bat too :)

You guys who keep saying Steyn doesn't bowl well in india need to go and look at his stats. He averages 20.20 per wicket in india.

For my side a we need an attacking spinner. The cupboard is pretty bare now that warnie has retired and murali is going downhill. But of the current players I would go for vettori.

I will pick Anderson for Nehra and someone like Sangakkara for India. Anderson has a decent ablity of moving the bowl both ways. Infact his inswinger to a right handed batsman deserves applause.

Yeah. Anderson is a decent bowler. Zak & Jim would make a good opening pair
