Think I shall go for the PS3 then. Will have to research to get the best deals. Best one I found so far was Game for ?299 with Virtua Tennis 3.

Since you will watch it with dvds you will have an even better time since you will have a built in bluray player in it

Blu ray is like the HDTV of the DVD world.

If I get an Xbox 360, I won't be fussed about online, that's what my PC is for. I'll watch DVDs on it occasionally, but mostly they'll be watched on my PC. As long as their reliability has been improved, then the Xbox 360 will be fine for me. I would get a PS3, but ?300 for a console! For that I could soup my PC up with a 8800 GTX or similar!

How do my current specs (see sig) match up to PS3/ Xbox 360?

What other games have you guys got?

PS3 for me. The guyz who like to talk about the 2 gfx difference then just instead of playing games keep comparing gfx.

What's the difference between ordinary DVD's and these bluray ones?

The format was developed to enable recording, rewriting and playback of high-definition video (HD), as well as storing large amounts of data. The format offers more than five times the storage capacity of traditional DVDs and can hold up to 25GB on a single-layer disc and 50GB on a dual-layer disc.

This is only + point going for PS3. XBOX has some killer titles to back itself up.

My god I didn't knew Blu Ray Discs also come with single layer or dual layer models.

Rob - Xbox uses DL (dual layer) DVDs so they are upto 9GB not 4GB. I have a 360 but even I have to bow down to the disc that has a potential of 50GB!

Are the PS3 games on blu-ray discs? If they are, this would be a huge advantage for the PS3's exclusive titles.
Imagine how much bigger the maps could be, how much longer the storylines could be etc. much more is possible on a disc that can contain 25-50gb (blu-ray) than on one that is about 4-5gb (DVD).

Yes, PS3 games are on Blu-ray Discs. On the back of the boxes, in the bottom right hand corner, there is the logo.

I heard somewhere, could be imagining it, that bluray discs will soon have a quad layer, reaching 100gig, anyone else heard this?
