straight to the point then

NOT GOOD
the meter where you press the button to catch the ball is far too quick. not only does this mean you drop catches, but so does the wicket keeper when being thrown the ball. also many overthrows

The run rates are still unrealistic. i played as india vs bangladesh in a 50 over world cup match on realistic realism and they were basically being all out attack, in bowled them out for about 80 after 11 overs or so. no consolidation at all.

Why does the wicket keeper keep on knocking the bails off whenever he has the ball?

Why is there no 'play historic matches to unlock achievements'- unless i have missed this

Players aside, next gen graphics of the field and pitch have basically just brightened it up, no texture such as blades of grass or sand etc

THE GOOD POINTS
Players do look next gen, especially the ones which codemasters mentioned in the run up eg dhoni etc licensed ones

Do like the animations of players

Marginally better than the last brian lara, but still nowhere near perfect if they call this a real cricket simulation. obviously haven't learnt from when they decided in the last version to only have the ball thrown by a fielder at one end and not the other

I am getting more despondent and disappointed with every post.

Sounds like the game was all hype.

Don't think I will buy it.....yet.

I don't know. I have only played the demo. Catching is difficult though. I guess I need some cricket game so it has to be BLIC 07. Bangladesh all out for 87 of 11 overs how bolwed , lbw :D ?

Using the mouse to catch and throw is a lot more responsive than the keyboard.

Shameless plug:

The Art of Cricket will not have any of these problems ;)

not getting good reviews for BLIC dont think i'll buy the game anytime sooner until it becomes cheaper
all hopes on The Art of Cricket now

Perhaps u could have another Avtarsaying Ea and codies both suck

Personally i think Cricket 2007 is better than BLC07. BLC07 has became a massive disappointment.

It's back to Cricket 2005 & 2007 for me, after modding these two games are more than acceptable now, just a shame in C2007 there is the lbw bug. BLIC at the moment is awful, how can Codies expect people to play test matches with messrs McGriff, Guiseppe and Clock??? I mean c'mon at least EA gave us the option of editing and within a day we real ones for unlicenced teams. The only time I ever recall a spinner opening was in the 1991 World Cup when Dipak Patel opened a couple of times for New Zealand, the AI is terrible the graphics not special and it's very limited when compared with EA's efforts, in fact it's not even on a par with Cricket 2002!!!

They have adopted EA's stance of same commentary as the previous versions and unlike EA don't use names that often and they haven't many names to use!

I wouldn't confuse this BLIC with the one that Codies had in '98 as this was done by the same team as EA's current series and that was probably the most stable game even up til now.

To sum up, both games need some serious patching... EA need that lbw bug sorted out and the ODI over quota bug as well as the AI and updated players, Codies....well where do you start, an in game editor would be a good starting point and AI. Without these this game is going to lose it's appeal very quickly!!!

Ratings...

Cricket 2007 out of the box = 58%
Cricket 2007 modded = 79% (lbw's would have added 6%)
BLIC 2007 = 29% (awful right now)

I don't really agree...I prefer BLIC. Morover we'll be able to play online and that's nice.
I hope people will do patches for the game though as for ea's Cricket 07

I will still go ahead and buy BLIC 07 I think. AI from the feedbacks looks really silly. May be I will have to play like AI to make it intresting .

From demo I was reasonably pleased I din't even score 30 in the demo and bowled well to win the match. Hopefully the full version can be just good enough for me.

I see your logic Ankit...but why should we have to play like the AI to get some kind of interesting/competative game?....it looks like the basic gameplay ghosts of previous games haven't been investigated...let alone rectified.

It shouldn't be the case.....the gameplay engines for the likes of Madden football, Rugby, Baseball and Soccer are superb in comparison.

Why can't we have a situation where cricket fanatics can be put with game software staff..and between them, come up with a great game of cricket?
