2007; Worst year ever for British Sport?

It just shows you how bad England is at sport when you are forced to consider 'darts', 'snooker' and 'squash' as important sports.
Im Australian, and I love the fact England are terrible at sport. Although I cannot wait for the Wallabies to get back at those Poms! :mad

You consider Australian Rules Football to be a major sport despite no one else playing it.....

Snooker and squash are definatley difficult sports that I respect. Just because they are not high status (Snooker is here mind), doesn't mean they are bad sports!

Just thought this was worth a bump :D

Leicester Fox added 16 Minutes and 20 Seconds later...

with a quick message :D

Once I typed up 'Define: Pom' in google and if I remember correctly pom is a word for a prisoner?

Actually the Aussies call us 'Poms' cos when we go down under a lot of brits burn themselves and go all red. Making us look like apples or as they say 'Poms.'

Whereas a 'convict' is a prisoner.

You'd be a good guy to have around 1 year after an argument Ollie:p

2008 was certainly a good year for British Sport although it still sucked to be a cricket fan.

Hahaha...I think i gave up on this thread last year cos we had such a rubbish year :p...

Britain had a good 2008, Hamilton, Murray, Hoy, Man Utd's success, Calzaghe, other Olympic people and we've also seen Australia massively decline in cricket. 2009 will be an even better year when we win The Ashes back :D.

I first read this as the 'm' being an r and then an n, which would bring up a rather different google search.:)

It has been a rather good year for sport over here, especially United:)

Only if the England team roll a few balls onto the outfield where Australia are warming up with a game of touch rugby.

Guess we all know now that Phil likes Prison Porn at least!!! Takes all sorts.

They're without McGrath anyway, we won't have to resort to rolling cricket balls into the outfield to get him to trip up over them, we'd actually be better off keeping the players that the Aussie selectors pick fit, they seem to be doing a pretty good job of losing to the Saffas (Y). Unfortunately Freddie's bunny in Gilchrist isn't going to be there this time, and we're probably not going to have a guarenteed early wicket in Hayden by that time either. Michael Clarke might have worked out how to play swing as well, could be tougher than 2005 after all.

:p Can't wait to read Aussie_Ben's response to that........

Although Bell won't have a problem with the bowlers as they look like there going to be county standard where he can hit double hundreds :p

British Sport in 2007 = Epic Fail. British Sport in 2008 = Man Utd, Welsh Rugby team, Lewis Hamilton, Olympions and whoever else i've missed. Beat that aussies :p
