2007; Worst year ever for British Sport?

It certainly has been Australia's worst sporting year for about a century. The failings of their cricket team and losing the Rugby League World Cup the biggest downers.
People shouldn't be saying England are now slight favourites for the Ashes, though, as after all, what have the two teams done? Lost away in India, beaten New Zealand at home and lost to South Africa at home.

Referring to the first dot point; it is an acceptable position. GB had a good year and thats not our fault. Plus neither was more painful, because I couldn't care less what our PM does.
The Rugby Legaue would cup was a plain crap, and yes I was saying that from the start. I didn't watch a game of it, and besides, we did better then England.
I don't see how we are expected to beat China and Iraq.
Does anyone actually care about Tennis? and I thought that blog person didn't either judging by the sports he says he covers. I must say, it is a bit disappointing though.
Wasn't that aussie golfer like a a million to 1 chance at winning (exaggeration) so I'm proud of him.
I'm an aussie, and I along with half the other country don't have the slighest clue on the rules of International rules football
The darts one sucks, and the cycling one is just bad luck
I will take beating England and getting smashed by the All Blacks, even though I don't watch Union
I never really thought of it as our worst year in sport not once but after reading that article it does sound like it is but I'm not really concerned.

You really underestimate Asia. I believe Iraq could beat England. No team like brentford could beat a team like Australia 1-0.
All of Australia's players are playing first division(except Carney) In europe. Some are in the premierleague and some are in the Serie A.
Also having 50 degree heat which your used to playing against aussies who earn a living in england at -5 degrees it's really hard.
Did you watch the match between Gamba Osaka and Manchester United? It finished 5-3 and if Gamba can tighten up their defence, they got a game.
