Hahaha I remember Sid saying this last night, who would of thought.

Sachin almost made there. He is now on 17168.

One good thing about this series is, apart from Delhi, all venues have had good ODI wickets with high scoring games. Just what the crowd loves, and they have been entertained with two very close exciting matches (Baroda and Hyderabad).

If Australia played with their full attack? We could've lost it with them. Thats how good Tendulkar's knock was. Knowing B Lee and Johnson they could've been absolutely destroyed tonight. I suggest World Champion stay away from that sort of thinking :)

I admit i stopped when Yuvraj got out but judging by the highlights just wow. Pity for Tendulkar and India but well done. India to win the 6th game for a final showdown in the 7th (hopefully). How can you replace Tendulkar or Ponting when they retire (shakes head)?

That was why I was slightly more confident defending this total without them. Johnson and Lee have been apart of some of our worst defence in history including that 438 by SA. Lee could have been useful for Hilfy but hard to know if he would have gone much better.

Hilfy is at a strange place right now, I thought he might be a really good odi bowler, but playing in india slightly changes things- lightning fast outfields, small grounds, flat pitches- any bowler can be caned. Almost every match this series someone has gone for over 70 runs. Obviously if Lee, Bracken and Johnson were fit he wouldnt get a game. Our lineup would be Lee, Johnson, Bracken, Hauritz, Hopes, plus Watson and Clarke. I think Siddle and Bollinger have shown they deserve a spot, Ive always been impressed with McKay, he did bowl well in the CL.

I doubt Michael Clarke will ever bowl again. Just not worth injuring such a class batsman for some semi-decent part time offies.

Bracken may struggle to get back in and his injury seems pretty serious. Got to the stage where he was willing to give up his FC spot. McKay, Siddle and Bollinger as backup give as real good depth and if Tait ever returns to his best we know he can do the business as he showed in the 07 world cup.

Agree on Clarke, really can't see him bowling again. No idea why White isn't bowling, he isn't great but as a part timer hes not that bad. Amazing to think he went from Test spinner to not bowling at all.

Agree, but at full strength we'll have the case of having too many players who cant bowl. If no 3 (Punter), 4 (White/Clarke?) ,5 (Hussey) and 6 (Ferguson) arent bowlers then it places a lot of pressure on the all rounder, probably Hopes. At the moment Watson is doing a good job, but i'd be a little worried with that lineup. I guess it depends on who is in our full strength bowling lineup.

6 bowling options is more than enough with White and Hussey able to send down some if needed. It's when we don't have Hopes/Henriques in the side where our bowling look suspect. That places all the pressure on the 5 bowlers to get it right.

I guess its good that almost all of the replacement/new players have looked pretty good so far this year. Our depth in general is good, but its being pushed right to the limit! McKay was pretty good last night. With the IPL and CL etc, it gives these state players early exposure to big crowds and overseas players they wouldnt usually get to play against unless they played for Australia.

Yep the experience in those conditions seems to have helped McKay and Bollinger was over here last year for a few months so he got quite use to it. The one struggling is Hilfy who hasn't played much in India. Amazing enough we still have Harwood, Nannes, Noffke, Clark and Geeves to call upon if we lose anymore bowlers. Don't think Tait is quite ready but you could add him too if he was at full strength. Of course it helps when we send random replacements like Cockley who isn't realistically ahead of those guys I mentioned.

Quite easily the best bowling depth we've ever had really, lots of youngish bowlers, not so many batsmen knocking the door down though, just the usual guys like Hodge and Rogers. Could see some serious rotation with the bowlers, but its not required as they are all breaking down anyway!

Rimmington looks good, and Cockley did look impressive the other day, hits the wicket hard. I guess they are plumping for youth, otherwise Harwood and Nannes would be over there.

Cockley seems to have similar raps to Siddle, I can understand why they picked him. They could have done the same for Cutting who has played a similar amount of games but has gone better in the ODD format but he doesn't have the same rap.

Yep batting is a bit thin which is lucky we haven't required any replacements in that department. Got Hughes and Warner obviously, Birt has been in good nick and North is capable along with those usual guys you mentioned. The rest have potential but are in the same mold as Cockley in terms of experience.

Edit: Just checked Rimmiongton's stats - average of 13.78 in 8 ODs and 14.55 in 11 T20s. Dam that is some seriously impressive figures.

I get the feeling with Rimmington that he is a Gabba specialist, he swings it plenty, but mostly under lights etc. Cockley played on a flat pitch, small ground, and did really well. Starc was impressive too. Unfortunately Sth Aus and WA arent producing many quality quicks, they are all coming from Vic, NSW, which keeps the old arguments burning! I'd like to see Geeves get a proper go. Butterworth is getting close as an all rounder too.
