Ajinkya Rahane
When you look at Rahane his batting seems like an old-school Mumbai batsman who mostly concentrated on his technique and his footwork in each of the shot that he played. He has all the textbook shots in his armoury while he times he ball quite beautifully. Despite having a short stature Rahane plays the short ball really well much like his home-town legend who is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsman of all-time none other than Sachin Tendulkar. Rahane looked quite a dependable batsman for his team and always played in a way that helped his team do well. He is a complete team man who always wanted his team to do well. His most productive shot being a punch of the back-foot helps him dominate the short balls of some very good fast bowlers who rely on bounce while at times he would step out and play a lofted shot straight down the ground on fuller deliveries. Although people make him out to be a Test player he is equally good a One-Day player but quite an under-rated one. His knock in the 2015 WC against South Africa where he scored 87 runs playing at the MCG while his 79 runs against the same opposition at their home in Durban in 2018 proves that Rahane equally belongs to the limited overs format as well.
