Hi Everybody

Ok! this is my first thread quoting the feature i like and dislike in BLIC07.
First of all, i would like to congrate the Codies for certainly imroving the game from his predecesors. But yet again they fail to put the longlasting impression on hardcore cricketers lovers like me!.
So, lets get straight, below is the list of things that really annoys the real cricket lover.

1. When Running between the wicket, batsmen donot cross over the crease
as they do in Ea cricket. Sometime even though batsmen reaches the near
to crease but they donot slide the bat to the crease, what they do is
slowly put the bat in the crease and thus gets runout (the biggest flaw :mad in the game).

2. Annoying wicketkepper and slip fielder. WK rarely takes the ball with both hands and to my surprise when Wk dives to catch the ball (wide ball) to fast bowlers, the animation sequence is so long that batsmen can easily steals the run. Same is case for slip fielder when they drop catch. Yet a another big  flaw. This thing really freak me out.

3. Whenever ball goes to gully, batsmen can easily take a run. moreover it easy to take run within 30 yard cirlcle(thats not a good gamplay). From my viewpoint batsmen should able to steal run but the probabilty should only be 60%.

4. Catching or thorwing meter really make hard to judge the catch or throw the ball :clap . This makes the game really beautifull coz you cant master the catch or throw over the time and it your jugment that make the catch.
So only things needed is to change the colour of catching meter as it is similiar to the ground which make harder to jugde, when the meter starts.

5. Overthrow needs to be improve, how can batsmen steal the run if there is an overthrow and ball goes nears to pitch or near to the player . moreover the throwing meter should restart to again throw the ball (thus should not be computer controlled).

6. Stadiums are Excellant but the colour of the ground i.e grass is much of yelowish than green. This irritates the eyes. gamma is to high even though i change my moniter screen setting

7. Animation sequence like picking and throwing the ball within 30 yards, drop catch and then throwing the ball, slip and Wk drop catches n throwing ball sequence are so long that gameplay look rubbish. this long animation make batsmen to steal the run

8. Stumpout to the fastbolwer or spin bolwer make game really rubbish. if batsmen steps out of crease and misses the ball, there is few chance to get back to crease for fastbowlers and no chance against spin bowlers. This is because of long animation sequence of completing the shot of batsmen. Moreover stumping should be User controlled as in EA cricket. I give 1/10 point to codies and 8/10 to EA cricket.

9. Running chasing algorithm are certainly improved from Blic05 but still need to improve more. Under huge score, CPU although goes for big shots but crumble and easily loose wicket like INDIA (maybe Codies have used Indian Run Chasing strategy)
Thus, i want to say is that Codies are trying to Compete with EA in terms of Graphics but are forgetting their strength (gameplay). At the end of day Gameplay that matter rather than graphics although graphics should be good but if Codies or even Ea wants to keep thier cricket series alive they all gonna do is to improve gameplay(although EA won't listen freaks!, hope Codies will)

Post your comment wheather you like or not!

Bye :D

1. is ok makes you think twice about taking that quick single
2. agree with you there but not end of world
3. yeah but is made up with the creasing thing
4. no biggy but would be nice
5. like it
6. pretty sure there are green fields
7. hate it
8. like it
9. don't care

i think codies will listen and even make 07 better before they bring out 09

I'm just happy I see one ball, not 3 as is the case in Cricket07, and I see the batsmen grip the bat handle properly again unlike C07 :)

Yes, and that is as important as the AI is it...he could grip it arse end up for all I care if the AI and gameplay is good.

Does 'like it' mean you like the feature, or the comment?

things that dissapoint me:

- the fielding - the catching bar, too quick and a fluke if u get it rite
- overthrows, a god damn joke!
- the ai's field settings, youre going for 13 an over man, drop some fielders to the fence
- the throwing itself, a fielder will rocket the ball in from the fence at a rate of notts, but if theres a chance of a run out from within the 30m circle he will do a pussy underarm throw with no strength
- the fact that you dont get to control your fielders movements and the computer does all running and diving for you, cmon its 2007, do something about it!!
- the wicketkeeper, the one handed takes, the lengtheness of the stumpings, the constant removal of the bails, dropping the ball on a returned throw

the batting - too easy to pick a gap in the field and score at +12 an over
- the shot placement cone, a good idea but shots become too premeditated for my liking
- how long it takes for a batsman to get in his crease after he misses a charged shot
- the way the batsman returns in his crease after taking a run

This is my opinion I know, but I went back to cricket07 last night, and I felt i was playing a game that just seems incomplete, visually anyway, and that's with my custom player at the crease holding my Mars bat in his hand, along with my pitchs, and my balls being bowled!

But with this game, I feel like I am playing cricket! But that's just me...

its really cool how you can edit things you could have a team of motorsport drivers wereing their tracksuits with their car on the bat or get zoo animals playing lol

hang on mate, this forum is "things that dissapoint me" and this is one of them.i love this game and cant stop playing it, so dont tell me to get over it. just voicing my opinion champ

Top 5 Things that disappoint me:

1. The AI. Or rather, the complete lack of AI. AI means artificial intelligence, right? Codemasters seems to have coded for Artificial Stupidity (AS) ! Man, thats easily the biggest disappointment for me....watching the ninth man hole out to the cover fielder in the 14th over of a 50 over match with the scoreboard on 32... then watching the opposing captain set a completely one sided field, even though I've whacked all my runs on the OTHER side....awful!

2. Lack of more match types/ variety. Yeah, I understand Codies were trying to do the EA sports FIFA thing, where there's Fifa 2006, Fifa Road to World Cup 2006, Fifa Champions League 2006, each seemingly focused on one facet of the game. Still, I find the lack of more game types really disappointing, especially considering that EA cric 2005 had so many....

3. The WK/ Slip fielder mix-up thing. I HATE seeing my slip fielder dive across my keeper to stop the ball. Everybody hates it, from what I've seen.

4. The umpire is very reluctant to call a wide outside off stump. This gets really annoying in the later stages of the game when a good leg-breaker can pitch it on a good length on leg stump and send the ball spinning way way WAY outside off stump. Very difficult to play, especially in multiplayer without the pitchpoint indicator...

5. Why does Fernando have Malinga's action? Why, Codies, WHY???

Thats just the top 5. The rest are pretty much the same as everyone else's, like overthrows, ridiculously long animations, etc.

Things that DON'T disappoint me

1. Fielding meter. Lets face it, if it were any easier we'd all be complaining how "unrealistic" it was, taking every single catch and throwing the ball perfectly to the keeper each time. This way the game really rewards practice. I like.

2. The batting animations are ten thousand times better than EA's. I mean, have you guys seen the tennis serve shot in BLIC 2007? The first time i saw it my jaw dropped! Whoa! Same goes for advance down the ground pull shot.

3. Batting difficulty doesn't bother me too much. All you have to do is turn the indicators off. Then it becomes a reflex game, and seriously, when you somehow manage to pull that surprise bouncer to the midwicket fence, you feel GOOD!

4. I don't really care much about the graphics. I wouldn't mind it if they were stick-men out there on a bare green field, as long as it had good gameplay. Although I would prefer it if they held their bats the right way up......

The main problem is- all games are challenging at first. But as time goes on, we become more accustomed to the system and therefore, find the game unrealistically simple to play. I had many exciting and realistic results in BLIC 2007 demo when I started playing it. But when I started to play the game hour after hour................In my opinion, the only way to enjoy a game time after time is to keep modifying the gameplay after sometimes, so we never become accustomed to the gameplay.

I Have been buying Cricket games for years and love the game like mad!! However I feel that the last couple of years companies seem to make money out of selling their products by the fact that their games have been updated with better graphics. However I seem to believe that this is only a marketing conspiracy to keep on selling us the same rubbish with new clothes on. This is not only happening with cricket games but most other titles as well. I was really hoping to see a great improvement in the game play from codies but they have suckered me again :(

O well have to wait 2 more years in anticipation for BLC 09 and EA 09 then probably feel like I do now!!! Bought another new PC, new graphics card, spend a lot more bucks and still be suckered again.

PS I agree with all the points mentioned by the other members.

Due to the fact that I am true cricket playing fanatic I have to score both BL07 and EA 07 as big disappointment's. :mad
