Hopefully this fills you with joy:

  • All new fielding - A complete overhaul of the fielding systems to provide the most realistic and responsive fielding controls ever seen in a cricket video game.

If the same team is working on Cricket 24, it will also be a failure. What could they possibly have done differently all of a sudden to improve that they couldn't do in Cricket 22? Yes I will buy it because it's the only Developer that makes cricket games.

I think I'm going to be optimistic until I see it. Sometimes for game development you can't see a lot behind the scenes. For example this version might have been in development for 5 years whilst they tweaked the current iterations or maybe being out of lockdown would have aided production. I'm not going to say the current games are perfect or this new one will be a guaranteed success but due to the intricacies of making a game these days, we just don't know till we have it in our (or a reviewer's) hands.

It suprises me how many get excited by licenses.

We have had the academy which with the ridiculously talented creators on here give us pretty much licensed teams anyway.

Mo capped actions were the best addition to the last game making it feel even more authentic. But the kits and faces for the most part were better from the academy.

I wonder how many lost their pants looking at the Pro team in the auction mode that was mentioned.. Easy to add more layers to cover the other things.. I really hope the gameplay speaks for itself but................

Same as last year.

More licensing. Cut scenes. New Fielding.

I have never played a test match and thought, I wish I could do some training before playing this Test Match.

Last years marketing worried me and I'm already a little worried about this years.

I still play hours on end and test and tweak for hours on end. But Test Matches take long enough without a press conference to sit through.

I always worry these things are added to make it feel like a new game. When realistically under the hood it's the same gameplay.

Im pretty sure last years hype on career mode was training and cut scenes. And the revamped fielding.

Lol last year revamped fielding with new runout mechanic was the big feature. This seems like copy paste.6 months is too short a time to fix fundamental flaws in game which have carried on for 5 years on same engine. This is a cash grab like EA with pro mode and licenses we need a Pro evolution soccer like alternative for cricket 24.

I would like to see how much the graphics are improved from the previous game when screenshots are released. I hope we see something from the game this month.

Most probably it will same or worse unless they moved to new engine which is impossible considering they were working on diff games like afl . Cricket 24 is cricket 22 with more license and better fielding and new bugs

But would you have enjoyed your test matches on Cricket 22 as much without seeing a cut scene of one of your openers practicing in the nets before hand, batting wrong handed?

I'm guessing the reason Rory Burns failed so often for me was because he'd spend all his time warming up right handed, only to come and open the batting left handed?

But I agree with pretty much everything you've put. Bells and whistles and all that, when it's the nuts and bolts that need the proper attention.

The lack of mention of any gameplay mechanic or feature other than the revamped fielding in their announcement is not a good sign. As much as people love to pile it on Fifa, they’ve always had at least one if not multiple new gameplay mechanics that they give a cheesy name in every new game of theirs that they also actively promote as they do know they’ve got to keep the hardcore fanbase excited in addition to the UT crowd.

On the other hand if it does have fine tune the gameplay from C22, iron out the bugs, make a slight graphical improvement and retain academy parity with it I’d say it will be a good game with all of the new bells and whistles. One thing I’m worried about is them further hampering the creation tools with the addition of new licenses so that making content similar to said licensed content is very difficult.
