Round 10

1679310490516.png
1679310513823.png
Procter again gets the curious outcome of picking between near-identical players. He goes for Andy McBrine as opening batter, off-spinner and mascot.

Round 11
1679310581764.png
1679310973993.png
And yet another player in exactly the same mould: McBrine's opening partner will be Johan Botha.

1. :ire: :ar: Andy McBrine (R10)
2. :saf: :ar: Johan Botha (R11)
3. :saf: :bat: Zubayr Hamza (R2)
4. :saf: :bat: Daryll Cullinan (R5)
5. :ire: :ar: Alex Cusack (R9)
6. :ned: :wk: Scott Edwards (R7)

8. :sri: :ar: Dunith Wellalage (R1)

Round 10
1679311241417.png
1679311263071.png

And staggeringly, VRV Singh gets the nod here.

Round 11
1679311356915.png
1679311394320.png
Medium-pacer Andrew Zesers was a Shield player at 17, a World-Cup winner at 20, and retired at 22. A career on fast-forward.

1. :sri: :wkb: Lahiru Thirimanne (R5)
2. :wi: :ar: Phil Simmons (R4)
3. :saf: :bat: Faf du Plessis (R3)
4. :oma: :ar: Aqib Ilyas (R7)
5. :ind: :bat: Suryakumar Yadav (R6)
6. :nep: :ar: Paras Khadka (R2)
7. :saf: :ar: Dave Callaghan (R9)
8. :aus: :bwl: Andrew Zesers (R11)
9. :ind: :bwl: VRV Singh (R10)
10. :sri: :bwl: Ajantha Mendis (R1)
11. :ind: :bwl: Aavishkar Salvi (R8)

I still can't quite believe you didn't get Robin Singh in to bat at eight, but what's done is done. Also, with no recognised wicket-keeper I've given the job to Lahiru Thirimanne on the basis that all Sri Lankan batters are secretly wicket-keepers. He's listed as having done it in a couple of warm-up games, but I'm skeptical.

Round 10
1679311648533.png
1679311663443.png

The big-hitting Rovman Powell gets the extra responsibility of batting at number three in this team. Yet again, two very similar players to pick from.

Round 11
1679311765615.png
1679311797813.png
Zambian-born Neal Radford was a far better player than his ODI record makes him look.

1. :pak: :bat: Fakhar Zaman (R4)
2. :wi: :wk: Shai Hope (R9)
3. :wi: :bat: Rovman Powell (R10)
4. :pak: :bat: Saud Shakeel (R8)
5. :eng: :ar: Paul Collingwood (R7)
6. :pak: :ar: Shadab Khan (R3)
7. :nzf: :wk: Luke Ronchi (R1)
8. :eng: :ar: Graeme Swann (R6)
9. :saf: :bwl: Kagiso Rabada (R2)
10. :aus: :bwl: Josh Hazlewood (R5)
11. :eng: :bwl: Neal Radford (R11)

This is the best-balanced team anyone has had so far.

Round 10
1679311971702.png
1679311986823.png

Well, that's number three sorted.

Round 11
1679312019143.png
1679312046567.png
And just in case this team didn't already have enough keepers, here's another.

1. :aus: :bat: Travis Head (R3)
2. :saf: :bat: Gary Kirsten (R1)
3. :pak: :bat: Inzamam Ul-Haq (R10)
4. :aus: :wk: Brad Haddin (R7)
5. :nep: :wk: Aasif Sheikh (R6)
6. :aus: :bat: Cameron White (R2)
7. :wi: :wk: Josh da Silva (R11)
8. :sri: :bwl: Ravindra Pushpakumara (R5)
9. :afg: :bwl: Zahir Khan (R4)
10. :aus: :bwl: Damien Fleming (R8)
11. :sri: :bwl: Chanaka Welegedara (R9)

It looks as if Head and White might have to combine to be the fifth bowler here.

Round 10

John Davison delivered one of the greatest ODI moments of all time with his historic World Cup hundred; he will bat at four.

1679312274571.png
1679312297121.png
And the RNG gods really have taken Associate representation seriously with the last-minute wicket-keeper this team needs.

3. :aus: :bat: Dean Jones (R6)

Round 10

1679312435673.png

Sharjeel Khan certainly has the attacking game to be a devastating finisher in this team.

And we have another one of my weird favourite cricketers; seriously there are old bits of paper where 10-year-old me picked a World XI that included Jamie How, Chamu Chibhabha, Michael Hussey and Malinga Bandara.

1. :aus: :bat: Matthew Hayden (R3)
2. :pak: :ar: Aamer Sohail (R1)

Was lucky at some rounds to form this strong XI, great league @Aislabie the presentation and everything was top notch, especially enjoyed your writeup of few words while sending the player pool's in pm.

If I had to stick with the same lineup, here is how I would re-adjust the batting card.

  1. :nzf: :bat: Colin Munro
  2. :pak: :bat: Qasim Umar
  3. :nep: :bat: Kushal Bhurtel

Again, not the strongest of lineups, but hopefully passable

Rick McCosker misses out again, but it makes sense - Mitchell McCleneghan was someone who just got better and better the higher the level he was asked to play.

And the last player here is a legend of Cricket Captain games, Vengugopal Rao. He even gets to bat in pretty much the right place.

1. :aus: :bat: Aaron Finch (R1)
2. :nzf: :wk: Brendon McCullum (R9)

10. :nzf: :bwl: Mitchell McCleneghan (R10)
11. :sri: :bwl: Sujeewa de Silva (R6)

There's a slight lack of silliness in this team. It's competent from top to tail, and that is frankly very strange.
Very happy with this side and to avoid people out of position. Only thing we lack is that star quality x-factor bowler.

Loved this league though I had couple of players in unpreferred batting position, this was fun. Looking forward to being a part of another such league.

Round 11

1679320388205.png
A real turn-up to land a player who can comfortably occupy the vacant number three position: Zeeshan Maqsood has been excellent for Oman for a long time.

Round 11
1679320349443.png
1679320465289.png
Number eleven does feel a little harsh for Mike Smith, but that's the only spot left for him to go.

1. :saf: :bat: Hashim Amla (R4)
2. :nzf: :bat: Devon Conway (R5)
3. :oma: :ar: Zeeshan Maqsood (R10)
4. :eng: :wk: Jos Buttler (R1)
5. :ind: :bat: Amay Khurasiya (R7)
6. :saf: :ar: Lance Klusener (R8)
7. :zim: :ar: Malcolm Waller (R6)
8. :wi: :ar: Nehemiah Perry (R9)
9. :eng: :bwl: Alex Wharf (R2)
10. :ban: :bwl: Taskin Ahmed (R3)
11. :sco: :bat: Mike Smith (R11)

All in all, a really solid team. Having three really good dual-role cricketers in Maqsood, Buttler and Klusener certainly helps with balance.
