Huh? Monty scoring runs! Amazing stuff here from Monty. Man of the match surely. Getting off the mark is a good effort for him but 38 is very handy. I think India will win this match.

Nice innings from Monty :). Now chasing 303 it will be slightly difficult for the Indians against this England bowling attack. Go Monty Go :) . Great update Trev ;)

Botham - "May as well call it the Monty show!"

Monty Panesar again shone along side the sun in the evening session, claiming three wickets as India slumped to 116/5 chasing 308 to win. Dinesh Karthik, Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly all dismissed by the brilliant left arm spinner. James Anderson and Michael Vaughan both picked up the wickets of the openers Virender Sehwag and Wasim Jaffer cheaply. First to go was Jaffer, caught by England skipper Michael Vaughan for just 9. Vaughan then employed himself and Monty to make the breakthrough on a turning pitch. Vaughan got the all important wicket of opener Sehwag for 29. A beauty of a ball which spun in and hit bat and pad, with the ball finally rolling onto the stumps. Dravid didn't last long, facing just two balls before he became Monty's first victim of the innings. A ball that pitched on leg stump and turned enough to go past Dravid's outside edge. Panesar dismissed Dravid in the first innings as well as Monty's next victim Karthik. A top edged sweep against the turn was Karthik's downfall, as the best fielder in the world kept his eyes on it and took a safe catch into the fading sun. Monty had time for one more before the end of play, the Indian veteran, Ganguly. Monty managed to grab his 5th LBW of the match as umpire Simon Taufel had no option but to give Ganguly out. India have a tough task on day 5, still needing another 201 runs for victory with Tendulkar and Dhoni at the crease!

India 116/5 - Tendulkar 24* (31), Dhoni 9* (24)
27 overs - Panesar 3/37, Vaughan 1/12

Batsmen Dismissed - Jaffer b. J.Anderson c. M.Vaughan 9 (10)
Sehwag b. M.Vaughan 29 (45)
Dravid b. M.Panesar 0 (2)
Karthik b. M.Panesar c. P.Collingwood 21 (29)
Ganguly LBW M.Panesar 18 (23)

Nice pres mate
India in real trouble, monty on fire!

do you find that in the first few overs, the batsmen always seem to edge it, or just be too agressive and give away catches? I find pitching it just a little short outside off is normally cut straight into points hands!

Umm not really with Tutsi's patch. I usually get an early new ball wicket, but they do steady for a bit afterwards. I either then skittle out the middle order and the lower order put up a fight or the opposite.

Oh and for a look at Vaughan's wicket:

Damn Sehwag was really unlucky to be get out playing a defensive shot after getting a good start. India are in trouble at the moment. Still with Dhoni and Sachin at the crease, India can manage to score those 192 runs. The battle between Sachin and Monty will be interesting.

Nice presentation Trev and nice video as well:)

Monty is bowling brilliantly. Also a great catch to dismiss Karthik by Collingwood. I think England will win despite it being a tense game. Superb presentation and works Treva. Keep them coming mate. :) This story rocks!

I have made a slight error in how many runs needed to win. India in fact need 317 to win not 308.

-------------------------

Dhoni, India's saviour?

Mahendra Singh Dhoni's unbeaten 70 has given India a real chance of winning this 1st Npower Test at Lords. Dhoni along with help from Pathan has put India in a position where they need just 115 more runs for victory, with 4 wickets in hand. Things started badly for India with Sachin Tendulkar adding only four more runs to his score of 24* overnight, falling to Monty LBW. There was a bit of doubt in the wicket of Tendulkar, with cameras unable to show whether the ball hit the bat or pad first. This brought Dhoni and Pathan together, both with reputations of hitting runs quickly. But both had to dig deep and make sure they kept their side with a chance of winning. At lunch their partnership had reached 102*, showing great concentration and fight against a strong bowling attack, with Panesar chasing his 10th wicket in the match. Dhoni finished 70* in 122 balls and Pathan 20* from 68 deliveries, as the umpires took the players off the field for lunch. With two sessions left in the match India will have to continue to dig deep, needing 115 more runs for victory. Will Dhoni and Pathan guide India to a memorable victory? Or will Monty dash all hopes by going past 10 wickets for the match?

India 202/6 - Dhoni 70* (122), Pathan 20* (68)
55 overs - Panesar 4/71, Anderson 1/27

Batsmen Dismissed - Jaffer b. J.Anderson c. M.Vaughan 9 (10)
Sehwag b. M.Vaughan 29 (45)
Dravid b. M.Panesar 0 (2)
Karthik b. M.Panesar c. P.Collingwood 21 (29)
Ganguly LBW M.Panesar 18 (23)
Tendulkar LBW M.Panesar 28 (34)

Why Sachin always become a victim of that Monty! India's hopes of winning will be ALIVE only if these two(Dhoni/Pathan) can build a huge partnership from here.

Neat works as always, Trev! :)
