FIFA08 vs PES2008

I think punk's sig says it all really.

I have decided not to comment on this years fifa, because i haven't played it. I have knocked it in the past, but i have still bought copy's of fifa 06 and 07, so i think i have some right to express my feelings on the game in years gone past. If this years is different, then i won't knock it. Simple as.

Ive played on PES demo again, and urgh, i dont like it one bit!

I think Fifa have finally done it, they have made there football games PLAYABLE and not just watchable! The graphics most of the time 10/10, playing 9/10, still some errors but defenders dont run away from you like PES 08 seems to be doing!

About that Sim,

I think that is the defenders backing off like in real life, i think this worked quite well in pes 06, although ill admit i haven't played the demo of pes 07 much. I can't get into demo's much.

Pro represents the beautiful game of today. Free-flowing football. Fifa is inconsistent and you struggle to get a move together because the actions and ball movements are near enough random and jerky.

Pro, in proper footballing sense, is more realistic.

If the game was that good, Fifa wouldn't have to resort to a manager mode, IMO.

Believe me, this years FIFA is a much more real gaming expiriance than the PES one, everyone knew this as soon as the PES2008 demo hit the marketplace...

PES2008 has such an arcade and easy feel to it, looks ugly too.

FIFA basically has everything amazing graphics annimations could be better, and the gameplay is pretty good you have to build up your moves unlike in PES2008 where I can run through a whole team with one guy.

And I can say I love PES probably as much as Madman does been playing it since ISS but if somthings not up to scratch then I'm not going to go around saying it's good just because the last 8-10 games were...

I'm talking 360's and PS3's, theres no point discussing the PC version of FIFA as thats just not football.

Sure I'll wait till PES is released but I can't see them making many if any changes for the final release, graphically it's nothing special players look odd grass looks disgusting (although I know they have more patterns).

I personally feel FIFA's the game to get if you want realism, PES definatly isnt a realistic game no longer scoring goals on 4* is way too easy the ball also pings around the pitch way too fast, long balls long wrong and I don't know if it's just me but scoring goals doesnt feel satisfying at all in previous versions it was amazing scoring even the ugliest goal but now no goal seems good enough, I'm getting that expiriance of being on the edge of my seat trying to score feeling from FIFA08....

Yeah PES's cover does look nice, FIFA's one isnt bad its nice and has a whitish effect to it...god were even discussing which game has a better cover, god help us!

To be honest, im a fan of niether, they both aren't worth my £40, because they both have flaws in both.

Ofcourse every game has flaws, but some are so visable, yet forget to be fixed.

Ill be buying PES, and then ill sum it up, i still think Fifa may edge it, but who knows what Konami will rush in this month they have, they might see something EA didnt!

I think Simon makes a valid point; a month is plenty time to iron out the so called mistakes and bugs of the demo.

Hope it is, but wont make it the more realistic plus it's not like they have a whole month don't they have to make millions and millions of copies and then ship them all over the place.......I just hope they make it a fun game like it used to be!

this should be a "FIFA08 DEMO v PES2008 DEMO" thread because you seriously cannot compare the two when one isnt even on the market yet! Dont say PES08 is crap, poor gameplay and all that hoo ha, because half of you punce who said that FIFA 08 Demo was pathetic, was too easy blah blah blah are now hailing the game the series best yet and said the demo was nothing like the full game. So just wait until the full version of PES comes out so we can have a real debate on what one is better...
