How To Decrease Bounce

i've recently made all fast bowlers to bowl at about 200km+, otherwise it'd be too easy to score runs. but i hav a problem now....because the ball is so fast, it bounces to much.

therefore i cannot play back-foot shots properly, and usually goes for 4 byes unless i have a fielder backing up for the computer.

is there a way to edit cfg files to make the ball travel fast but not bounce so much?

Is there anyway to can tell me how to make the bowlers bowl 200kmh??
or can you just e-mail me the files needed to do that at [email protected]

It's just a case of tweaking the appropriate value in the config files. I had the bowlers bowling at 500mph (800 kph) at one point, but I soon changed it back!

lol yeh, its extremely easy to do, just edit the fast bowlers speed line in the cfg. file

I don't know how to do that. what numbers do i use in cfg file??

extremely easy eh?

where is the bowlers speed line in the cfg. file?
can u tell me what its called and what's an appropriate value?

Yes, like i said.. extremely easy. the line is this
; FastBowler Speeds & Spins
Fast 1.300000
Normal 1.300000
Slow 0.600000

This is how it is with the hardcore patch... If you want fast bowlers to bowl faster, raise the value... I had it at around 5.3, and the bowlers were bowling at around 250-350 kmz a hour... pretty hard to hit, but i got onto a few of em.... actually hit a couple of sixes too :P

yes there certainly is

in the fast.cfg (stored in the cricket2002\configs folder) there is the following

Condition 0
RestitutionXZ 0.990000
RestitutionY 0.406000
RollingResistanc 0.985591
WicketRestitutionXZ 0.799886
WicketRestitutionY 0.735472
WicketRollingResistance 0.896194
Gravity 0.108948
End

The WicketRestitutionY value determines the bounce of the ball after pitching.
Lower the value to lower the bounce for all Condition types :)

By How much do i decrease or increase the numbers by? .000001 or .10000???
For Bowling Fast and Reducing the Bounce?

I suggest increasing\decreasing by +- 0.05 at a time

cheers

hey everyone,

thnx 4 all the info. now i can actually accommplish back-foot shots from short balls from 200km+ bowlers however the occassional 1 in 200 will be a fast full bouncer and go over the wicket keeper.

for all who want my cfg files for fast and speeds. feel free and tell me what you think...

personally, i think 200km is just about right! :D

; FastBowler Speeds & Spins
Fast 4.500000
;0.999999
Normal 3.600000
Slow 0.000001

use these cfgs and use my fast.cfg file

You guys have to help because when it comes to editing stuff I am dumb as a rock.
This is what I did to get the results as du88nc. I went to the Configs folder in Cricket 2002 folder. And there were 3 files with .cfg endings so I added .txt to the one I was using (L_normal.cfg.txt) and in that file i used these numbers
; FastBowler Speeds & Spins
Fast 4.500000
;0.999999
Normal 3.600000
Slow 0.000001

But in Fast line i entered 4.500000;0.99999

I started Cricket 2002 and nothing happened.

What did I do wrong and how do I get the results as du88nc.
Why is there file to download in du88nc's reply?? What do I do with that file??

Thanks in advance

Nevermind, I posted the last message after I bowled 1 over against the computer.
Now I know that only the computer gets to bowl at 250kmh, i don't.

thanks du88nc for the numbers.

hey...

if u want also my L_NORMAL file...here it is.

it has lots of seam and spin happening......

btw...it's 4 test.... (i'm simulating the windies vs. australia test series)
