Going to be a massive series here. So much has been talked about this series after what's been going on in the Future Cup.

My McGrath-style prediction is a 4-0 whitewash:D Can't wait for this series. Last time they came it was Steve Waugh's last series and we drew, there is no reason why we can't win this one:)

My prediction is 2-1 in favor of Australia. India can at least win one test and draw one. Not too sure about the winning prospects of the Indian team. We dont know who will be the captain. So as of now, 2-1 in favor of Aussies.

Aus should win the series but the Indian batters have shown they can bat a long time if you don't have the bowling attack. How our bowling attack will go will obviously decided the series. Lee really has to stand up he can't has the off days he usually has. Clark's big test comes now with no McGrath and MacGill more than likely taking over as the number 1 spinner.

anywhere and everywhere, you predict a whitewash. not consistent enough means whitewash?????

only a bad team have more chances of getting a whitewash. an inconsistent team can sneak in 1 or 2 wins.

It won't be a whitewash because, if they're as inconsistent as you say they are, Sanjay, they won't be able to lose 4 tests in a row. ;)

I predict 3-0 with Adelaide being washed out.

I'm hoping to go to days 2, 3 and 4 of the Boxing day test with mates so it should be fun.

I feel that India are strong enough in tests to put up a good fight. Remember, they did what Australia could not do last time and beat England at home. Anyone who says that England were lacking strength in the bowling department obviously did not watch the series, although, obviously, Flintoff would have been nice for England but that is all on a tangent.

Starting with the bowling, Zaheer Khan seems to have turned a corner as of late and now bowls with increased accuracy and just enough movement to beat the bat. He will be a crucial weapon. Sreesanth is always hot and cold but I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt in England and say he had a bad series. I still feel he is able to recreate the destruction he caused in South Africa in the test series there. RP Singh was also useful as a back up bowler too. Anil Kumble could be the fourth bowler and specialist spinner but based on his great performances for Surrey and against the Aussies in the past, Harbhajan Singh should be in the squad too. Based on whether he has regained his rhythm and venom in the Indian domestic season, Munaf Patel should be a possible option too.

Irfan Pathan may be a good option for all rounder, allowing India to play five bowlers. His test batting average of 27.83 is fine for an all rounder. On India As tour of Africa, although he was still coming to terms with his new action, he was quite consistant with the new ball especially. Perhaps he could open with Zaheer Khan or maybe Sreesanth.

On to the batting, I feel the batsmen who worked in England should be the first choices and I also feel that Parthiv Patel - 5 centuries, and two fifties, one still in the process of completing, in his last seven FC innings and Badrinath - 4 centuries, a double, a fifty and currently 15*, should be given goes as FC batsman for their quite staggering form.

Obviously not, there were 5 Tests in that series.

England's bowling, although very good, was still under strength. You can't deny that.
