India tour of Australia Nov'20-Jan'21

Some fortune on two Sirag dismissals with balls appearing to jump alarmingly after hitting cracks. Paine got another but managed to avoid nicking off. I dont expect India will be looking forward to batting on this wearing pitch tomorrow.

Australia nearing a 300 lead.

Rain in the air?

I think Australia need just another 10-12 overs to feel safe and then put us in to bat out last 15 or so overs today. A couple of wickets there and it will be game over for us. Rahane and Pujara just don't instill that confidence of battling it out for a draw or a win on current form and with the pitch misbehaving - and expecting yet another rear guard fight from the newbies is a bit too much

Need the tail to eke out 30/40 more runs. That should be sufficient with this pitch starting to break up. Cracks everywhere reminds me a bit of the bad old days of the WACA.

Play has resumed, 280 as the lead stands, if we can bowl them out below 300, it might be chasable, but atm, Aus win is most likely seeing the forecast for tomorrow, we might see a draw but us winning seems next to impossible already.

Regardless, very proud of the third team, they've done really well here. :)

Wait, Siraj has 4 now, rooting for his 5-fer, no Indian has got 5 in an innings this series yet. Boom, Ash got 4.

Thakur's got 4 as well now

300+ is a tad too much on this pitch. India is likely to play with the intention of drawing it out. But the question is will they be able to survive with so many deliveries misbehaving off the pitch? If rain doesn't halt the play, I reckon Australia will be fancying a win.

328, tempting score. Hope it'll be a cracker of a day 5.

I remember Asad Shafiq playing a gem of a knock chasing 489 at the Gabba in 2016, though Pakistan lost that, it says anything is achievable here. Just the success rate hasn't been on.

50 important runs by our tail takes us to 328.
Promises to be a thrilling last day.

What a series this has been for Siraj - suffered a massive personal tragedy but stayed on in Australia. Had such a big Impact on debut. And as if that wasn't enough, had to spear-head the attack in the final Test with a B-Team bowling attack despite being 2 Tests old. And he shines on to get a fifer and keep India's hopes alive (albeit slim ones).

What a find for us - all his toil in First Class cricket coming to fruition

I think not many would agree to this but I believe there is definitely something special left to unfold in this wonderful series. I don't quite think the pitch has had anything much in terms of sideways movement. Also few of the Australian wickets were giveaways in search of quick runs. I am not going to write off the Indian team for this match. They would definitely want to take their chances to do something special tomorrow. I believe Australian win has rather faded off with the time that has been lost. It would be bold of me to say this but I believe this is rather an Indian win or a draw. The Aussies are definitely under pressure.
