HB: Welcome back to us here in the studio ahead of the first match in this King of Kings Cup, here at Lords. We have got a

full crowd here today for what should be a great encounter between England and Australia. Here with me is Javagal Srinath.

Javagal, how do you feel this match going today?

JS: Well Harsha, I think and hope this could go down to the wire. The powerplays will be important, but it will come down to

the side that plays controlled cricket that will win today.

HB: Now we shall go down to the middle where Jim Maxwell is there with the two captains Ricky Ponting and Michael Vaughan and

the match referee, Mike Procter.

_______________________________________________

JM: Well I have with me the team captains and Michael to toss with Ricky calling.
Ricky says Heads and it is...

... A tail. Michael what are you going to do?

MV: We are going to have a bat Jim. The pitch is as flat as we have seen it here at Lords over the past few years and we want to take full use of it.

JM: So Michael, after a not very good World Cup and Ashes tour before that, how do you feel you will compete against two brilliant One Day sides?

MV: Since the Pakistan series we haven't had a great time but we feel we are still one of the top teams in the world. Our side is full of young, up and coming players, and we feel this is the future for English cricket. But we have to prove that we can win big games and battle with the top teams in the world like Australia and India. If we can prove our worth in this competition then hopefully we can go on and look to win back the Ashes in 2009.

JM: And Michael what can you tell us about your squad today?

MV: We have Joyce and Loye at the top to make use of the powerplays and hopefully get us off to a brilliant start. Myself, Pietersen and Collingwood will look to build an innings but i'm sure Kevin will go after the Aussie bowlers as he did in both Ashes series to date. Simon Jones is back from his very long injury that occurred at the end of the 2005 Ashes series. He will be a great asset to our bowling with Anderson, Lewis and Panesar already looking strong. Freddie will be his usual self and Nixon has looked very comfortable behind the stumps and is more than capable with the bat.

JM: Well thank you Michael and good luck for the match.

MV: Cheers Jim

JM: Now, Ricky how do you feel about loosing the toss and bowling on a very flat pitch?

RP: Well obviously I would have liked a bat Jim, but as a team we feel we can chase down any target with the batting line up we have. We hope we can get a few early wickets and force England into rebuilding mode and slow down the run rate. We will be looking to chase a score about 270 and below.

JM: So what about your team Ricky?

RP: Well we have the usual top order of Gilly, Hayden, myself, Hussey and Symonds. We hope Gilly and Hayden can get our chase off to a great start and make it easier for our middle order to chase down the runs set. We have decided to go with 4 bowlers and 3 all-rounders in our squad. McGrath and Lee will take the new ball while we have Watson, Cameron White , Brad Hogg and Andrew Symonds to help us out in the bowling department. And I am sure Glenn will want to produce in this first game of his final series after coming back from retirement.

JM: Well thank you Ricky and all the best for today's game.

RP: Thanks Jim.

JM: Well there you have it. England have won the toss and elected to bat on what is a blinder of a batting pitch. Back to you in the studio Harsha.

_________________________________________________

HB: Well thank you Jim for the toss down in the middle. So Javagal what are your thoughts on England batting first?

JS: Harsha they simply have to take this opportunity to bat on this wicket first and set Australia a big target. If they get anything below 300 I think the Aussie's will chase it down. It will certainly be a very intreguing match.

HB: Well Lets take a look at the two teams then...

England team looks very interesting :) But Aussies look to be strong.. Also nice decision from England to bat!

I am very interested to see the opening partnership between Joyce & Loye! :) Also nice presentation WC :hpraise

Australia walked out onto a perfect setting for the first match of the King of Kings Cup. A sold out Lords, The home of cricket, and the sun shining down on to a run fest of a pitch. Out came Ed Joyce and Mal Loye, the two England openers. " England will need to start positively today, on what looks like an absolute belter of a pitch. They need to get on top of the Aussie bowlers and try to unsettle the Australian's line and length." They were the words of Sunil Gavaskar as Joyce took guard for the first ball.

Ed Joyce and Mal Loye started to rip into the attack and hit some beautiful boundaries all around the ground. Loye hit a few of his favoured sweep shots and Joyce played shot of the innings so far, nailing Brett Lee past extra cover and mid off, with a lovely drive on the move down the track. England looked in the driving seat and took Lee and McGrath to the cleaners. Loye and Joyce managed to keep their wicket intact in the first powerplay and moved onto 64/0 off the first 10.

"A brilliant first 10 overs from Loye and Joyce. They have shown that timing is the key and have made good use of a flat track. If they continue this rate they are heading for was over 300, and Australia will struggle to chase under lights. Australia need to pull it back or this game could get away from them very quickly!"

Well lets take a look at the England Innings summary. Loye has hit 28 runs off just 29 deliveries with 6 fours. Joyce was just a little bit slower with 26 off 31 deliveries and 5 boundaries.Brett Lee got hit for the most runs going at 6.4 an over. McGrath was a bit less expensive but still went for 5.6. There have been 10 extras with 5 wides, 2 No balls and 3 leg byes.

WOW this is just awsome as presentation. Loye and Joyce batting well for England, like u said, will be looking for a 300+ score here maybe around 320 if they keep this run rate up, and will be hard for Australia to chase in the lights

England have got the great start.. Aussies need couple of quick wkts before the situation turn worse.
