Vettori without doubt hes still only young yet has been playing forever. Hes a pretty handy late order batsman as well. Kumble and Kaneria are great spinners as well.

Danish Kaneria sounds like something Id buy in a bakery, but I think Vettori is up there based on recent form, he is beggining to come on and made the World XI and the team to take on Australia in October. He troubled the Australians and even when the umpires who were blind didnt give Gilchrist out 3 times for plumb decisions he was still our best bowler in Australia.

Obviously Anil Kumble.
He's the most exprienced of the lot.
He has the recoed for higher wicket taker for India in tests & also who can forget the 10 wickets in an innings.

If u say saqlain I can't agree...he's chucked out of the team now.Kumble is holding his position in the team eventhough he's the oldest member of the team.
Kaneria is now emerging to be a good spinner.:)
I would not atall concider McGill.

A better poll for us english is who will be the next GREAT English spinner? Although....we could still be on that thread in 10 years time :(

micheal vaughan

anyhow ..many of you seem to have rated mcgill high?
dont know why though as i havent seen him bowl much.
is he good enough to destroy a team?

Vettori is decent but really the top young spinner is Kaneria. Kumble, Murali and Warne are legends and everyone knows it but there are some good ones coming out of Pakistan, look out for Tariq Mehmood who's playing in the domestic competition in Pakistan.

yes u people are trying to over rate McGill.See the stats.I've taken Kumble for Comparison. It's rediculus to find McGill's name in the list.
At the end only records speak.:p

What about virender sehwag? He bowls superbly against tailenders.

Yes,Sehwag & Tendulkar are the best part time spinners.
Tendulkar is great.
One ball he off spins & next leg spin which turns like Warn's
And after that and inswinging yorkar.
He does everything,we can call him an asorted bowler.

Tendulkar doesn't have good control over his bowling and he never seems to be confident of his own bowling though he can bowl many varieties of bowling.
So sehwag would be the best spinner.

I think put the list it has to be Kaneria, what i ahve seen of him playing for Essex he looked brilliant. but 2nd i would say Ashley Giles. Last year he bowled brilliantly in Tests
