Dan Cullen may not be around yet but he has big wraps. But of that list Daniel Vettori or Stuart Macgill will be the next best spinner

Ever heard of a guy called Warne?
Yes I have heard of Warne. I have also heard of Hogg. So why exactly does Hogg get into the team over MacGill if MacGill is the best spinner after Murili and Warne? Infact why did he get so many votes while Hogg gets none considering Hogg is preferred.

Simply bcoz Hogg is Oneday specialist and Mcgill is test specialist (according to ACB)

Stuart McGill's carrier is almost finished. He's 34 years.
He must play for atleast 10 more years to break/create records of some sort.
He's too old.

Anil Kumble is the next best.
How many times has McGill single handedly won a match for Australia.
Kumble has done it many times.

MacGill can't use that test specalist excuse. Firast hes played 3 ODI's so playing ODI's must of been an option. Secondly if he wanted to represent Australia which you would be sure that he would want to, he would play whatever way he could. He would very seldom get a chance to play while warne is in the test team so why diddn't he make the ODI team.

My answer: Because he is very average.

Also Kumble is surrounded by all these 2nd rate bowlers who wouldn't get a run in the Australian 5ths team, while MacGill is surrounded by probably the greatest fast bowler of all time (Glenn McGrath), a then in form Jason Gillespie and a mixture of other great bowlers from Australia.

Tests: 160 wickets @ 28.81
ODIs: 6 wickets @ 17.50

He doesn't play in ODIs simply because he can't bat. We would have a tail who wouldn't be able to hold a bat let alone get runs

THats ridiculas. If he was the 3rd best spinner in the world you would think he would be worth it. Hogg isn't a good batsman anyway. The Australian top order is so good, when have they ever depended on the last 3 batsman anyway. McGrath is the only incapable batsman and he has a 50 in test. Look at the Australians stats. How often do they finish a ODI innings with McGrath or Gillespie in or get bowled out?

Well Hogg wouldn't be batting in the last 3 batting spots would he?

Hogg is a great batsman , last year Warwickshire has him as their overseas player in county championship he averaged about 60 with the bat and about 40 with the ball and in one-dayers he averaged about 30-40 with the bat and about 25 with the ball!
So Hogg is a better batsman than a bowler!
