I know his stats, average of 35 not including Bangladesh games, and he got most of his wickets against us when we got bored at 2/300 and slogged him to deep fieldsmen

I reckon SL would still take him, not to replace Murali, of course. It's debatable whether he'd make the Pak side, but he is older than Kaneria and Kaneria is hardly so amazing that you would drop... oh wait that's exactly what the PCB do, yeah MacGill's got no hope of playing for Pakistan in some parallel universe.

Kaneria has impressed me playing for Essex this season though, he spins it on most surfaces. tbh i haven't seen enough of MacGill to give a fair view on his ability,

Kaneria was awesome against Australia in Aus. He has the makings of a great spinner.

Kaneria bowls simple, but yet effective. So I would vote for him. It's a shame, he can't bat a little, otherwhile he could have make it to the ODI's. I remember Lara praising him and he also got Lara's wickets.

Next would a choice between Vettori and Kumble.

kaneria, kumble and Harbajan Singh are the best spinners so far but kaneria is really good he is improving alot

Hogg is a great batsman , last year Warwickshire has him as their overseas player in county championship he averaged about 60 with the bat and about 40 with the ball and in one-dayers he averaged about 30-40 with the bat and about 25 with the ball!
So Hogg is a better batsman than a bowler!
