Any objections to me editing the poll as to whether Dhoni was the correct choice?

I think Dhoni is showing good promise in a format thats even more challenging than the 50 over version. I feel he can be a good captain for India if given the right chances.

Doesn't feel like the right option for me.
And i don't like the whole idea of split captains and Dhoni does NOT have the experience ect to lead a test side.

I'm going to wait and see how he performs in the ODI series before I make any calls on his captaincy. I don't think he has done badly, though, although this is just Twenty20.

Hmm yeah. I really don't know how you can judge captaincy on T20. I hate how the media blows things up!

The concept of T20 was very new to India with only 1 international match experience. The shorter the format, the tougher it is on the captain. One bad over, and you might lose the game. Any format it is, the skill of captaincy remains quite the same. Dhoni has shown good promise as a captain and he has the respect and support of his team mates (we saw that in the way they played).

I am not serious about this - but are you worried that captaincy might give Dhoni a permanent place in the team, with Karthik (ur favorite!) having to be in and out of the team?

It's not about winning or lose even. Dhoni has been positive and cool under pressure. He's been composed and taken bold decisions which could have easily back-fired on him.

He's shown that he's the best captain for India at the moment. I initially thought he had no experience for the job, but when you have such a refreshing attitude, you don't need experience...

As Collingwood said that people should judge him after the series with India, we should judge Dhoni after the series with the Aussies.

Come on...
A skilled captain can adapt to any format of the game.
Captainship is an inborn talent.

The Aussies probably know that they are up against a very intelligent cricketing brain.

I am unable to vote in the new poll now...

Dhoni may not be "tested" yet in the longer format, but seeing his attitude to captaincy and his cool head under pressure, I give him a good chance of coming out with flying colours.

Yes, Ricky Ponting praised Dhoni's captaincy in the press conference.

Yes.
KKD is a legend :)
The only thing i'm hoping for now is that he'll get tired of 'keeping and will give the gloves to Karthik.
If he does get test skippership, its going to be mighty hard for him to keep and captain and bat for 5 days-including running all the way down 55 yards (that is if he plays the slip, which he will probably) to cool generic bowler-say Sreesanth- down. He's going to get fatigued and collapse!
And KKD's already a regular in the test side and he can don the gloves.
