i want to know where exactly is ravis patch and if its in foums what's the exact title and if game crashes using that patch what is the website for that bug :helpme:
Hey Kewldude, did you try the latest one long enough. I can confirm Aussies scored 48/1 after around 18-20 overs when I tested it. One or two players might be a bit aggressive but the others should continue to defend quite regularly I thought. For any test match the way CPU plays will be a tad different in sessions although in the end the run rate should hover between 2.5 -3.0 (Also depends on how attacking you are with your field sets). All the tweaks for test cricket lie in config files and has nothing to do with the exe so using the original cricket2002.exe should not cause too much of an issue.Originally posted by kewldude_78@Oct 27 2003, 10:56 PM
Hey Ravi,
I tried out the new Test Bowling Patch that u uploaded. The thing is, the CPU now plays a lot more agressive than usual ... just like the actual unpatched CPU batsmen. I was just wondering if u have not made the changes to rectify these problems in ur new patch.
So I tried something ... i used the exe in ur new patch with the rest of the files of the previous bowling patch. But this again made the game crash when the batsman edged one.
I have one question ... What would happen if I use the normal cricket2002.exe file with the rest of the config files in ur patch ?? Would that make a difference ??
Sorry if I'm troubling u too much ... but except for the game crashing thing, ur Test bowling patch is amazing and I want it to work smoothly if possible !!!
Thanx,
Kewldude
Read your interview with Andrew and I have to say its comprehensive at the least. Well done mate, take a bow.
I dont see much point in uploading the Test/ODI patch now knowing that the Cricket 2004 is round the corner.
If I am able to fix those game freezing issues, will upload it and let you know for sure.
looking forward to reading itOriginally posted by Admin@Oct 26 2003, 03:58 AM
Make sure you read the interview with Andrew_Wilson I'll be posting very soon about Cricket 2004. Made a second call to him and got some more info?:
Kewldude, there are more than one setting to alter to get a realistic result. There is also a copy of old config file bundled with the install file viz copy of u_hard.cfg which has the original settings. With the new edges file, the keeper and the slips will catch brilliantly at times; ofcourse you will need to place your best fielders in the slip to catch those edges. I am sure you will appreciate it when that happens. I had some time to play a test series some days ago when I felt I was able to bundle out the oppostion fairly easily playing as Australia particularly against the weaker sides hence I changed it to make it a bit hader to get wickets on good pitches. You can delete the u_hard.cfg file after having run the test cricket batting.exe and rename the copy of u_hard.cfg to u_hard.cfg to switch to the old config. You still can change it a fair bit to get the best out of the settings which I detail below :Originally posted by kewldude_78@Oct 28 2003, 07:07 AM
Hey Ravi,
I tried out the new patch again for a lot more time and u were right. The CPU does play sensibly and not too agressively. I was able to contain the CPU to a run rate of below 2.
I couldnt get any edges as of yet ... i did get one which fell short and went between the keeper and 1st slip and the game DID NOT freeze. Although I still have to get a proper edge which is caught. Will let you know about it.
Also, its mooo! difficult to get a wicket dude. I play on hard level and although I have been bowling for only some time now, I dont think it should be this difficult. I happened to get just 2 edges in about 30 overs inspite of bowling good line and length. Any ideas ?? Maybe i should change the edges parameter in the config file.
