True, Hogg would have been true asset, can't deny that. ..they could have easily replaced Haddin with Hogg.
They should have done quite a bit of replacing. Haddin didn't do much with the bat so we gained nothing from having him instead of Hogg. Hilfy should have been in the team from the start his 20/20 form beats any of our current bowlers.
What a match was this? As Harsha Bhogle said, what has happened here at Kingsmead? Is this India that we're seeing?
As much as the Aussies dont like this format, they got to accept sometime soon that this is going to be a popular format. I am not saying India is a better team than Australia. But this format provides lot of entertainment to the spectators, and I can clearly see lot of people now tuning into this format. Its about who holds the nerve, and if Australia cant, they have to accept it. Its not always about being the BEST.
Fantastic show by India! I cant believe they would do this well in the first inaugral tournament. They outplayed Australia in batting, and held their nerve in the end to outplay them in the match. Though someone other than Joginder would have made it even more easier for india. Joginder was too predictable though he had a good final over but by then, India almost knew that they had won it. Yuvraj is turning out to be a big player in this tournament. He batted brilliantly when we needed some big hits to propel the score, and that catch in the final over was awesome.'
Bring it on Pakistan. We are ready. But it is a dream final - INDIA VS PAKISTAN. I have always dreamt of such a final in international senior's cricket and it has happened. Should be a bit easier for India since its not Australia and its Pakistan. But overconfidence can do messy things with you.

It's not particularly great to see your team lose, but having failed to address any issue whatsoever in the bowling attack, it would not have been particularly great to see them get out of jail on batting strength.
The '5th bowler' took 1/50, while the seventh batsman only managed 5 runs off 8 deliveries. Yet again, there was no justification to omit Brad Hogg from the entire tournament. One could even query the apparent disappearance of the yorker for tonight's game. At one point, they had included five fast bowlers in the same team. If this is a policy change brought by the new administration, then Australians should probably expect a lot of cringeworthy performances to come as the team devolves into what it was 20 years ago.

Zaheer should be called up (allowed?), this is the final now, this is no longer a joke or knock about. In all fairness to Joginder, he is not a twenty20 bowler.
It was like underplaying that knock. It was magnificient.

He did the job for us in spectacular fashion today. And he got the two big BULLIES - Gilly and Haydos. Well, he deserves to do more than what he did on the field today.
