Semifinals and Final

It all started with Sree's last over. When Hayden fell the momentum really switched to our side. (Pathan taking a wicket, Bhajji's miserly over followed by RP's miserly one as well.)

Agreed. I was sure Australia would win it until that over.

Inspired move to bring him on. A move which I beforehand thought had to be done in order to get the vital wicket.

Dhoni's captaincy was highly impressive today, he did the right moves at the right time and his move to put Joginder "Singh" back on in the last over was brilliant and took a lot of guts.

I have to say that Joginder should not play in the final, he is a clear weak link and you cannot afford weak links in a final. It is a shame noone can replace him who is good enough.

My theory is that all good things come at a price and all bad things come with a good thing in the future and it has proved true.

Which means England are due to win the next 4 World Cups

Lol, noone agrees with my theory. England are not due to win the next 4 World Cups because they have not been embarrassed beforehand they have just done what was expected and no more.

Obviously, pure class like Australia means you are exempt from the rule. None the less, expect them to roll over India in the ODIs as revenge.

I have to say I was very impressed with Sreesanth. He bowled magnificently to keep Hayden quiet at the top--Aussies could well have gotten into a flier and run away with the match.

I, too, am surprised about Brad Hogg's non-inclusion. Especially since he has troubled the Indians earlier.

And finally, it seems like this tournament has showed that this format is really about specialist players. Mediocre all-rounders will not fare well--you need either really good all-rounders or just a pack full of specialists.

I would like to see what Yusuf Pathan is made of. I think it would be rough to drop Joginder, but it will be interesting to see if Dhoni is a no-nonsense captain.

Wow, India were celebrating the win like they had to win to save their lives....
Beating Australia in any format is a huge thing!
And there is no harm in celebrating. Dhoni mentioned that he wants the team to enjoy the game as much as they can.

Dhoni has really impressed with his captaincy. He made the right bowling changes today. Brought in Harbhajan in the 18th over when the pressure was still on Australia. If Joginder was given that over then the pressure might have been taken off Australia and Harbhajan and RP could have not stopped them from winning.

My previous post was meant to do exactly this -- jinx the Aussie run chase !
Great win.

The 2 teams which got knocked out in the first round of the 50-over WC are now in the finals !
Who`d have thought that !!

And we have done it in a format where we were said to be behind as far as fitness and fielding goes. And we have done it in a format thats going to be the popular one tomorrow.

India's got to defeat Australia first and it's looking somewhat unlikely with Joginder bowling the way he is.

Actully I'm proud of India they beat us in bowl-out becaused we topped our group anyway, easy one. And most of our players had no idea what Bowl-out actully was.. so ;) peace up.

Should be a good final, probably the best thing for this form of the game, the only problem now is we'll have to listen to the Aussies criticise this form of the game and act as if it doesn't matter. Dhoni's English is pretty good but he sounds exactly like the guy in a call centre off fonejacker. This final pretty much guarantees this tournament will be called a success by the ICC because there will be massive tv audience so it looks like we'll be seeing more twenty20 in the future!

Its fun! 20-20 is fun. Its not that you connect everything and it goes for maximum. Bowlers can do well provided they bowl in the right areas. Pitches if prepared to suit both departments, can serve up a great game like the ones we have witnessed in the last three days. And the nail biters are just coming in which is great advertisement for this format.

You can notice what you wnat, i hardly care  i am not kind of guy u are thinking, done even expect if India win 20/20 i am going supprt them . NEVER

Which means we wont care whom you support. Because you're insane. (if you're really living in india), i would have thrown you out of the country had I been the president or prime minister.

I object to that. I live in England but support India. Why? I don't know, I just do. It is a funny feeling to support a team, it is inexplainable.

can i know who was the post-match presentator ??
as dhoni said "i read an article by you on cricinfo" !

that was a fantastic moment. dhoni had read shastri's report on cricinfo and he pointed that out to shastri. it was in a humorous tone and shastri also laughed over it. it showed to me that this guy reads all what is said on internet websites. it can be good and bad in a sense. good because he will know what people say about his team and could improve. it could be bad because wqhen things are not going well, people write all negative things about the team and he could get more pressurized.

Yuvraj was looking in imperious form. My opinion has really changed about Sreesanth. He won't shut up. If I could choose anyone to go for 36 runs in an over, it would be him.

You're Indian. It makes perfect sense.

To be Indian, live in India and support Australia makes no sense.
