Semifinals and Final

I forgot to Congrats the Indians on their win, and Pakistan are touring India remember guys. Next year I think, so watch out.

Yeah Harbhajan has been fantastic throughout the tournament and has made a great comeback imo.

I think the credit for this win goes to Gambhir and RP Singh and Pathan. The overs by Sreesanth almost cost us the game, he went for 44 off 4 overs with 1 maiden

don't worry, we have piyush (a very promising young spinner) and Zaheer. I don't think we need to worry, if we can play like this . Consistency is important though ;)

I don't think anybody in the world cares what do you think haha :D You can say whatever you want, fact would never change :D

Mate, as i've posted Congrats to India, that means I'm not changing the facts, it's not as if i can. But I'de say the same thing to you

" fact would never change" Indian bowlers have no respect.

Peace up.

Finally! We are the champions. YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!

For all those emotional Indian fans, even though this is a Twenty20 World Cup, were you able to hold back those tears? I could'nt. I was drowned in emotion. Dhoni almost did a Ganguly when he took off his shirt, but he gave it to a boy to wear and was walking shirtless. Yuvraj was just throwing everyone down and was making a pile out of our players. Winning his first tournament as captain and that too a World Cup, Dhoni surprisingly didnt display too much of emotion and celebration.

But nothing to take away from Pakistan. They almost made the impossible, possible. We rarely get to see such close games between India and Pakistan in recent times. We have now got two out of two with India prevailing in both. I knew Misbah could do it and so was internally egging the Indians (not that it worked!lolz). Afridi should really be blamed for playing that stupid shot first ball up, but thats the only way he plays. But sometime soon, patience could run out on him for Pakistan.

India fully deserve this win. They used the pitch effectively. Esp. Pathan who mixed the slower deliveries to deadly effect. The fielding was razor sharp as usual and the intensity was not let up at any time (it took a blinder from Misbah and some good hitting from Tanvir to get that close).

Time for the big three to retire? Almost! I would want one of them to guide Dhoni into ODI captaincy and then take rest forever. Only two should be selected for any ODI series, and only one should play in the games (with rotation). Highly unlikely to happen, but would be good for the team.

Dhoni showing very high promise. His decisions have worked wonderfully well. His captaincy was fantastic today. Unpredictable, yet effective. The team is enjoying their cricket and looks like a good unit now. The 50-over World Cup 2007 was a BAD DREAM! Bring it on.....

I would remember this tournament for quite a long time.

:( haha good try Pakistan, I'm proud!

Indian bowlers have no respect at all.. and thats about it :).

since you're a more sensible poster, i want to ask you "why no respect to the indian bowlers"? was it because of the words they mouthed occasionally?

they did their job perfectly.

Yes, India had the game well in hand before Misbah almost pulled off the impossible.

I think Yousuf Pathan could have got an extra over instead of Harbhajan who was almost bowling medium pace with his quick firing straight ones. He looked too tense to me.

However, the important thing is that India have won a great game of cricket and played some intense cricket throughout. Encouraging signs!

They need to remember that they are playing a game of cricket, and remain within the limits of the game. Actually they bowled really well but their behaviour is not acceptable as a Fan of the opponent team.

This has costed Pakistan 2 back to back loss against India.
I respect pakistan bowlers because they missed the bowl out not because they don't have the skill to hit 3 stumps unlike Sehwag, Bhajji, or Uthappa (poor bowlers) but they just didn't had enough luck

Which Indian bowler other than Sreesanth sledged any batsmen? One or two of them got overexcited after getting a wicket and were intense throughout, but you expect that in the big games!

I thought even Sreesanth was extremely well behaved in this game, considering the intensity of the contest.

Maybe you didn’t read my text, read again..

I didn’t say I have no respect for Indian blowers, I said they don't have any respect for batting opponents, I was giving my opinion rather then a point of view and there is no way you can start a argument on this, because it has nothing to argue about ;).

well done india..but u are not the "20/20 World cup champions"

you are the "World 20/20 Champions"

These are 2 separate events..

the first 20/20 world cup will be held in England in 2009...

just thought i'd correct that common mis-conception..

I can't see anyone except Sreesanth sledging and crossing the limits. Sreesanth alone doesn't represent "Indian bowlers" and Sreesanth didn't do anything unacceptable in this game.

You said Indian bowlers have no respect meaning they didn't respect the opposition.

Maybe you needn't respect them, but the opposition should have respected them a bit more and maybe Pakistan would have won had they just played sensibly instead of throwing their bats at everything and getting out.

And boy, Indian bowlers hit the stumps a lot more than Pakistan did this match and we got them all out while Pakistani bowlers got just 5 wickets ;)

Got it. My Bad. Apologies :)

terrific performance by india...once again they defended a gettable total and the fact that 90% of the runs in the last 5 overs came in sixes and India still held their nerves and won the match is mindblowingg :hpraise:hpraise:hpraise

let the records show this is not a bowl out win...India has beaten pakistan fair and square :D
