Katich has to go IMO, he may have scored a 50 but it's slow. And as an opener we need someone quicker, Jaques is a must now, but the Selectors are so stupid.

As I said before our loss to SL the last time round Martyn and Katich aren't a good combo. Both aren't super fast hitters. The combo we have now is perfect!
Anyway good knock by Katich however slow it was. He did make 50 which we badly needed although looking at our situation the run rate requried has jumped up quickly. Clearly its a case of bad partnerships.

Australia restricted the Lanakns for 218, Hogg bowled well. Australia have got another 91 runs off 19 overs with 7 wickets in hand to win the game Katich batted ok.

Again Katich falls in the 50's/60's. He should of gone on, there was very little pressure on. Martyn looks good, Symonds pretty good, he seems like he wants to play a big shot.

A good innings by Katich, but by no means a bounce back to form. Once again he chooses to play the anchor role but fails to lead the middle order by going on with it.

If the selectors say Katich 50 is enough then what the hell does Jaques have to do?
Anyway finally a postive batsmen comes out and now we are seeing some entertainment.

Hold your horses we really have a game now thanks to Murali. Martyn and Symonds both gone. Here is Hussey chance to show he is the next Bevan.

Pressure right back on Australians with momentum swinging in the balance . Lets see how Hussey approaches this battle for victory and against Muralitharan who is really firing after those two wickets. Still Australia would be favourites as it's not a very difficult run-rate and usually they handle pressure well, but the key is how Murali bowls towards the end of this match.

Wow Murilis ball to get Martyn was a ripper. Symonds shouldn't of played the big shot. Those two should of ended the innings. Now Australia are in a little trouble. We will see if the great Hussey can reamin not out and guide the side to victory.

Aus win with 9 balls to spare. Bevan I mean Hussey ;) has steered us home. This is the reason why he should not be moved up the order!
Good match but SL really lacked a captain. All these meetings probably just confused the matter. I wonder what would have happened if SA had us in this position.

Good win by the Aussies. Hussey and Clarke again steers the Aussie home. Murali gave Sri Lanka some hope with a magic delivery to remove Martyn. I agree the captain wasn't on the field and it was difficult with 4 or 5 players to arrange the fields. Looks like another player added to the injury list as well as Jayasuriya. Both the touring teams are finding it tough with injuries. Gibbs is also injured for the Proteas and it will be interesting whether he plays next match. Tough schedule for Sri Lanka and is a major disadvantage to them. They got another 2 games in 5 days.

Yes!!! Sanath is back for the next match. At least we won't see the same slow start again.

Agreed Muralis ball to Martyn was incredible, Symonds wasn't a big shot it was a normal sweep shot.

katich is not a one day player he dont have to be at ODI's, and if he has to then dont send him as opener, cuz he wastes lot of balls in the early innings and thats where big hitters can score runs like gilly and symonds, but according to me gilly and hussey has to open the innings for australia.
