Well if there was a third final it'd be amazing, hasn't been one in ages. Good to see Lewis coming in, he probably deserved another shot as he didn't perform too badly before, but this also marks the end of Dorey's international career, or atleast for a while.

Well Dorey is still in the squad and if Bracken or Clark aren't in the starting 11, Dorey might well find himself but in the team. He was after all picked ahead of Lewis.

Whether or not we have a 3rd final will depend on Jayasuriya and Sangakkara.

I said at the start of the series that SRL would surprise you guys with their performance and that they had the talent to reach the finals and I was right !

Their batting order was just about perfect in the last match .
Jayasuriya and Sangakarra along with Vaas,Murali and Bhndara can spring a surprise in th finals .
I expect to see a 3rd final this time around.

It will depend is SL win the toss or not. If Aus win they could well make a 300+ total and then use their supersub. I am sure our current side minus McGrath could defend that total.

Sri Lanka I feel should win at least one game probably at the SCG because they have a good recent record. I agree Sri Lanka's major chance of winning is if they win the toss and bat first. If Sri Lanka can score 280+ than I will fancy their chances of winning at either ground with Murali and Bandara with the ball later on. Their batting again heavily relies on Jayasuriya, Sangakarra and Attapattu. They still lack the big hitter like Symonds and Hussey late in the order which could cost them. If it does go into a third final than I presume Sri Lanka will struggle on the bouncy pitch. But they did win their game against SA at the GABBA.

Injuries played a major role for SA's absense in the finals. They missed Ntini who could of been very handy at the WACA and bowls well at the death, Nel who looks the goods in the test matches and Kallis who is their 5th bowler and best batsman. Because of Kallis' absense it meant that Smith had to bowl his part time deliveries which were only effective in the last 2-3 matches in the series.

Des anybody think if Hayden will make a comeback to Australia for ODI's in the near future against South Africa in South Africa?

No chance, Jaques is clearly next in line for the opening gig. Katich doesn't look like getting dropped any time soon so no chance for Hayden.

Agreed he has no chance, no point in resurrecting him despite still being quality. There's plenty of promising players on the rise, and Hayden doesn't need to be pre-occupied by those sort of things if he hopes to prolong his test career.

I cannot believe Katich is still opening, selectors don't know what they are doing, and it even applies to the bowling as well, they save to favour 30 year old bowlers over some of the younger talent we have. Tait is just about ready to come back, but I think he should be delayed a few months to be worked on his accuracy so he can be a little more economical.

Katich has had a decent series, and is a class player.
