Time for the FA to act, for the good of the England team

Do we need a foreigner player limit if the England team is to survive?

  • Yes, new owners will only want to buy foreign players mostly.

People may not like PLC's or Big Foreign investment but the Premiership would be nowhere without their investments.

That would suit me.........

Yeah but you're a Birmingham fan, you're not really effected by massive investment or European successes or any successes for that matter:p

A quota wouldn't help England become a brilliant international side. Foreign investors aren't to blame for the mess that England are in. The grassroot facilities aren't good enough, the standard of grassroot football isn't high enough, there isn't enough sport played at most schools, and there just isn't as much passion over playing sport anymore, as kids can just stick Fifa or Pro Evo into the playstation. The foreign investment isn't a problem.

He didn't get a vote of no confidence from the fans, 55% voted in favour of Laporta keeping his job. Was nothing to do with having a strong relationship with the board members.

Also, regarding Madrid, Guillem Balague and Graham Hunter are under the impression that Real Madrid are having abit of a crisis at the moment. They dealt with Robinho very poorly, with Schuster wanting to keep him, but Calderon and Mijatovic desperate to get rid of him for the money. There's a big battle going on between Mijatovic and Schuster. Mijatovic doesn't think that Schuster is the right man for the job, the clubs far from in a perfect state.

60.6% voted against him actually.

We do have a slight crisis at the moment because after Robinho's departure we are kind of short of wide options players. I think Schuster now needs to play Robben on the left and use Sergio Ramos as a right back cum winger (like he plays for Spain).

I doubt there is any problem within Schuster and Mijatovic as being potrayed by SS and the press. Bear in mind it was Mijatovic who got rid of Capello and suggested Schuster's name in the first place and even praised the German for winning the league with style last season. (Big wins over Valencia, Villarreal and Barcelona)

If a quota was brought in, then the quality of PremierLeague football would be reduced. You'd see teams just playing below standard English players just to match the quotas, not helping the teams, or the players. If they're good enough, they'll be playing Premier League football, but they're not, so they're rightly not being given the chance. You see the best young English players getting in the teams, Fraizer Campbell, James Vaughan, Matt Derbyshire, Gabby Agbonlahor, Joe Hart, Micah Richards, David Wheater, Stewart Downing, Ashley Young. We've got a wealth of young talent that is good enough to be playing first team football, but there just isn't enough out there to warrant bringing in a quota. It'd just make the Premier League fall in quality.

Unless some Arab oil baron takes it into his head to buy them...

this is off topic

Wayne rooney ruined his career moving from man city to man u.

and chelsea is the best and ballack kills all

Which was m vaughans point. Don't think he wasn't offered a considerable amount at Everton though. I seriously doubt he wanted to finish his career with a couple of trophys at best which with all due respect to Everton was what he would have done. Unless they get bought by billionaires as well. Ayway there are very few Matt le Tissiers. Pretty much every player in football you could call a mercenary. Or you could say they were going to further their careers. Just depends on whether you're a dick or not really. :D

That's it, most footballers these days are money grabbing mercenaries. The days of players like Giggs and Scholes who stay with one club for their entire career are, sadly, over.
