You have got to be kidding me! Did you forget that players were shot and were even admitted in the hospital after sustaining shrapnel wounds? They could have easily died and its just by sheer good luck that you were able to "save" them. And I accept that a lot of people were killed in Mumbai. But at the end of the day, we saved many lives and not every one who stayed in the hotel was killed.
Good luck, yes, but also the priority of the security.
Let me explain something - India's priorities at that time were to capture at least one terrorist, for whatever reason - I won't get into that. However, the priorities set forth to the security here were to make sure the visitors were safe. It was about 9 AM, and Lahoris, well.... they don't like to get up early - simply said, there would not be very many on the street.
Now, we did capture many terror suspects, and like I said earlier, one was captured with AK-47s and other guns, along with a grenade in the bathroom (don't ask me, I don't know), bloody shirts, etc as well as very local maps with lines in the roads. Indian passports, and Indian ID card. He's arrested, he's still in jail.
I'm not too familiar with the Indian IDs, but I believe it was an MNIC, something along those lines. So yes, we didn't kill any terrorists, but we captured 5-6. They have been tortured, or whatever you wish to call it, I will say tortured, because to be quite frank, that is indeed what happened, to find information out of them.
Many attacks were stopped based on this key information. Many more Afghanis were arrested based on that.
A lot of terrorists were gunned down and killed in Mumbai and one was even captured alive. Your security guys were'nt capable of doing it. And every terrorist escaped alive. If that aint bad security then I dont know what is.
Well, they are all alive to my knowledge, but some are arrested.
Well then where was the so-called "Presidential" security? Yeah. Oh, I forgot. They were indeed present. In the security report papers and not near the bus. If thats the level of security your president gets, I am surprised that Gen. Mushie(only Pak politician I somewhat respect) lived as long as he did.
It wasn't there. I will explain this in my article that I am still writing (hopefully I can get it done soon), and you will get my response there. I will say though, that an attack on a Sri Lankan team was simply not expected. If you ask anyone who toured Pakistan in 2005 with the Barmy Army, they will tell you that all roads to the stadium were blocked for the England team, and that was truly Presidential security.
Racism? Possibly, actually yes, it was racism. It was rather discrimination. I will cover this more later in the article I am attempting to finish.
Hypocrisy of the highest order. We atleast did'nt behead your journalists which your terrorists did to Daniel Pearl - an US journalist.
Pakistan doesn't own these "terrorists"
We are fighting them, and I would appreciate it if you didn't call them "my" terrorists. It's very sad, yes, because he came to Pakistan, but I think he knew he wasn't going to have much security with him.
But there are plenty of other "goray" here in Pakistan, Sky News was here the other day in the capital doing a report (Maybe I'll be on TV in the UK, who knows) and the men filming and the reporter were "goray"
Things aren't improving very fast in Pakistan it seems, and again, time will tell whether the Taliban really want peace, or we're in it for the long haul.
And max_dillion, I recommend reading my post. At the VERY least 10 more times, and then revise your post.
