"Among other things, he also broke a couple of our servers that day"

Here is another Tendulkar praise article from cricinfo. I loved this one the most. So i feel like sharing it :p

Sachin Tendulkar?s record-breaking didn?t stop on the field on February 24. He shattered many on Cricinfo. We recorded 45 million page views that day, and our highest number of unique users in India and the United States. The match report for the Gwalior ODI became Cricinfo's single most read piece of content.

It has always been so. If evidence was ever needed to confirm Tendulkar?s status as the world?s most-adored cricketer, it can be found in our logs. Month after month, year after year, he remains the most-searched cricketer on Cricinfo; by a huge margin, his profile page is the most visited player page on the site; and in any given month, headlines (often more than one) featuring his name are among the top 10 on the site.

Among other things, he also broke a couple of our servers that day.

Trust me, we make serious contingency plans for peak moments, and certainly we have never underestimated your love for Tendulkar. But obviously, there is no accounting for it. As he stood a couple of runs away from making history, so many of you logged in together that our servers blinked. It was a desperate few minutes, but in a sense, it was also a moment of vindication of your faith in us. Many of you got on Twitter to vent your frustration, and there was one post that stood out: ?You know you are large when you crash Cricinfo.?

We hope to be ready for the next peak. We have just ordered some Tendulkar servers.

Just a quick question, did planetcricket crashed during 200 run epic ??;)

We don't need Tendulkar to crash servers here. :p

It's not over yet, the WC is still far away  :banana2

A movie on his life would be awesome:hpraise
It would have all the ups and downs. A teenager taking on legends of the game, a young player reaching the pinnacle of sport, match fixing and coming out clean where captain was found guilty, struggle with injuries, second coming in the twilight of the career.:hpraise

AngryPixel added 1 Minutes and 11 Seconds later...

And for my surprise (any many more's) the PC server ran smooth

how? :p

Maybe we all are visiting cricinfo too frequently this month instead of planetcricket :p

Tendulkar being the most searched has nothing to do with his International popularity. Its just a billion Indians searching his profile over and over again so they can fap to it.

^ Sour Grapes eh:laugh. You wished KP to break this record :sarcasm

No, that's you putting words in my mouth. I am glad Tendulkar broke the record, just bringing a bit of realism to your life.

As soon as Sachin achieved the 200* milestone. the giant Google was crowded with search #Sachin #SachinIsGod #tendulkar #Sachin Tendulkar records

i read it in our local paper it is something that he was Googled tons of times more tha nObama & Ipad

Yea because 1 in 6 people in this world are Indian. Not because the world is obsessed with Tendulkar.

I m really waiting for someone to break down this record and the player who achieve it second time saying "I m a Tendulkar Fan, he's my guru"

@hmarka, i know 1 in 6 people is indian but that doesnt mean no one other than indian respect/adore/follows sachin. Also it doesnt mean that all the 1 billion indians follow cricket. I have met with a lot of Dada's fans who hate tendulkar and put dada above anyone.

Are you honestly telling me that you have never searched the term "Sachin tendulkar ' on either google or cricinfo? I sure have searched K.P/Punter and a lot of good players.

Sanjay Manjrekar,

“A man in his 20th year of cricket getting a double hundred is a special moment. In the end he was running those singles and doubles for the partner at the other end, unlike Saeed Anwar who ran his last 90 runs with a runner.

anyone remember??

S Anwar: 194 out Catch Ganguly bowler: Sachin Tendulkar

now is this a kind of record or fact?
