I'm very impressed with South Africa's performance in the ODI series and their complete obliteration of England's plans (so far, at least). Apart from that, I am also happy that English cricket realizes that all their Ashes build-up was a wee bit inflated if a team like South Africa can take them to the cleaners. England are better in the longer version of the game but if South AFrica go on to take the series 5-1, I think their confidence will have taken a bashing (in both forms).

That said, South Africa have shown themselves to be one of the top 3 ODI teams in the game, in my opinion. What they really lack is the bowlers. Apart from Pollock, if they can get one or two more match-winning bowlers, they would be the closest to the Aussies. They've got great batsmen and a long batting order. And they've got Kemp who looks like he can hit everyone for six.

I don't think it makes any difference at all to the Ashes preperation. We're not a good ODI side and we know that but that does't affect the confidence for Test matches.

Not just his batting but the control he gives Vaughan when he bowls, especially at the death. We've really missed that this series.

7/186 from 41 overs when the rain came.

I hope it clears soon, England have got a good chance of winning this if there's a result.

Great bowling by Gough and Wharf. Our lower order has collapsed and I think we made a mistake in bringing Kemp in so late.Well played by Herschelle Gibbs though.Lets hope we get a full game in now.

Sorry to spoil the party, but I live not too far from Durban and the rain is absolutely pelting down and there is thunder. It usually goes from here to durban and if it does, its the end of play I'm afraid.Lets just see.

Am I missing something or do England now have to chase the SA total in 48 overs rather than 50 despite bowling them out in 46? Not only that but we have to chase a higher total...
