South Africa vs England, Day 1 - Early Breakthrough!

England had elected to bat first on this great track for big runs as we said eralier on, but the openers have failed to stay in both Strauss and Trescothick have gone in ver similar fashion playing forward defensives just nudging at the ball, this gives us the clue that the pitch can hold up on you so an aggressive approach may be needed throught for England.

Strauss was to go first a soft dismisal to a forward defensive, he found form in the warm up with a 100 but thats not going to happen this Innings anyway, Trescothick looked promising until he was caught behind nudging at a good lenght ball. The one thing that has stood out for South Africa is the fact that they come hard at the stumps especially Steyn and Pollock who are looking deadly at the moment, Vaughan and Pietersen need to hold out for a few sessions both men looking good!

South Africa vs England, Day 1 - Lunch!

Well its fairly even but with the two wickets gone and all it could be a crucial session if England lose a few after Lunch but the later part of the Lunch session definatly belonged to England some great strokes by Pietersen and Vaughan has put them in a good position, they will want to end the day with a max of 1 or 2 wickets lost both of these men need to get a 100 or one needs to get a big 100 remember Pietersen has just come of the back of a double 100 so his confidence will be right up.

South Africa have kept it pretty tight just some good shots from England havnt allowed them to keep the runs down Nel has bowled at a threatening pace which has made some of the more casious batsman such as Vaughan weary not to go flashing outside off.

The key for South Africa will be to get two or 3 quick wickets in the next session that will definatly bring the game back to their hands and will allow them to bat without pressure but the way play is going now it looks to be an even contest!

South Africa vs England 1st Test, Day 1 - Tea Break!

Vaughans Luck!

Vauhany has got away with some today it has been a pretty even session all in all but Vaughan has got away with a few hes nicked some that havnt carried and he should be back in the hut long time ago when a LBW appeal was turned down and it was clearly out. So is this the luck he needs? maybe it is and hes making use of it with a patiant Innings to help his side, he also should have been run out by a mile we had to change cam to get him in the screen!

But he has made good use of this luck and will need to get a big 100 remember he needs to get one for his personal status and for his team and country, so can he carry the job out and lead fromt the front, we will have to wait and see!

Pietersen Departs!

Well as the luck went Vaughans way he seemed to hog it all because KP had no luck what so ever, he was playing a steady Innings and look do server his usual.....service until he miss-timed one that lobbed up to gully for a simple catch!

This is South Africas chance to get a few breaktrhoughs and make the game theirs!

Sputh Africa vs England 1st Test, Day 1 - Poms All Out!

England have just been bowled out on the brink of 5PM. Some good batting performances were put in but they were in a spot of bother for a while, Vaughan and Freddie did well Vauhans luck ran out but England will not be happy to be bowled out 1st day their lucky as a whole to have the big contribution from the tail.

Handy Andy!

Jimmy Anderson has put in a beautiful contribution to get his team to this position and it was a exciting and thrilling 50 by Anderson too bad it didnt last that long but he had done that damage along with the rest of the tail end who seemed to be able to bat besides Hoggard.

He now has to show he can do that same with the ball as he will most probably open there seems to be some swinging conditions for him to use and adapt to and strike a few befor stumps!

South Africa vs England 1st Test, Day 2 - Stumps!

Amazing what a day for both teams well it looked one sided but in the end of the day it really wasnt this match is so finely balanced for the win from either side, we have seen some amazing cricket all around today which has kept everyone on their feet in wait and anticipation for whats going to happen next some highlights here to fill you viewrs in!

England Struggle But Get Through!

England have struggled for most of this day the South African batsman have been dominant from the off just look at the statistics on the batsman proves it alone some amazing hitting they came out with intent but England slowley chewed away at the South African batsman who had plenty of fight and got the job done you can say but wickets were crucial as it got England closer to winning I guess we can say they picked up crucial wickets but I guess the damage was done...

Yes some big wickets looks like they were rolled over cheaply but that wasnt the matter take a look at Kalis aswell as England taking wickets they also got smashed all around the park and this is going to be one big problem if it happens so runs are needed and big runs because South Africa have shown a total under 300 is simple doing for them, we'll see what England offer tommorow.

Kalis Smashes A Biggy!

Amazing Innings by this man if it was not for him it would have been game well over but he stuck in and didnt even give England a chance early on to get him out he smashed everything take a look at his fours no feild setting could do him he just kept hitting we thought a 200 was on but he failed to the change of bowling but may have dented the England confidence...

Most of the damage on the bowling cards is thanks to him, we know he has to provide with the ball to but will he be able to with this big Innings and then bowling but he has played his part as a allrounder this was just an amazing sight to watch for everyone!
