South Africa vs England 2nd Test - RSA End Of Innings!

It's been a short but exciting Innings by RSA we spoke about the factor of losing wickets and that happened regularly, Englands strike in-form bowlers did the job Anderson chipped in at the right times Hoggard bowled really well and struck in the first over as Smith failed to score, Gibbs followed later on.

Its a tricky sort of score that RSA have set only 157 but these low scoring type of matches can be dangerous so England will have to watch out and make sure they get a big lead because they could end up with a low score...we saw in the last test here that RSA had it was a low scoring game for the whole time but it still looks a good batting surface!

Not many positives for RSA besides the fact that De Villiers found some form and battled hard but had no support RSA's big guns seemed to have failed today, but they can go in with positives that some of Englands batsman arent in top quality form the likes of KP he hasnt scored a milestone as of yet but this is the time to do it unless South Africa countinue to keep his bad form running!?!?

South Africa vs England - England End Of Innings!

England have finished their Innings and it was pretty casual Vaughan was playing wonderfully got to 92 then fell maybe he got impatiant but he did what some batsman didnt and that was play every ball on its merits but got nervous in the 90's.

Vaughan also was included in the run out of Pietersen who tried to scamper a quick single but failed to make his ground it was pretty strange to watch. The rest of the England line-up seemed to bat in a pretty average tone none made a really big impact but it is game on for boht sides.

Around a 200 lead for England, which is what they needed. They'll now look to repeat the form they had with the ball in the first innings.

South Africa vs England - Stumps Day 2!

It has been a good session in a few ways for England it has been good mainly because they got some nice breakthroughs at the right times maybe a lucky one of the run out of Gibbs which was pretty unecessary due to the match situation with South Africa having loads of time to get a secure lead in this match.

Early on England had some frustrating moments when Smith edged one that was dropping short of 2nd slip and then next over Gibbs got an inside edge which Jones dropped, no blame on Jones as it was a mighty hard catch to take it went flying down leg at some speed and only conceded the one run!

Stupid Run-Out To Start Small Collapse!

Well what can we say, weve seen a few of these in this match let alone over the course of a few matches, this times it was the openers in Smith and Gibbs who were nerdling it around pretty nicley until Gibbs felt the urge to call for a quick single that wasnt really needed or called for ironicly, but Jimmy Anderson clawed down on the ball and threw over the stumps for Hoggard to get an easy cliping of the bailsand got Gibbs by 5. Once again no dive by a batsman...Is it the hardness of the pitch there scared of?

A Few Well Deserved Wickets For Poms!

After that some more wickets fell, Kalis out of all people went for a duck good bowling I guess but it really shouldnt be happening at this stage of the match we dont understand the need for the South Africans going after the ball when they can have well over two days to bat!

Then the other wicket that went unfortunatly was Smith the capitan of the Proteas who looked in wonderful touch with yet another 50 but not able to convert it into a big 100 which is what South Africa need if there going to be gaining a strong hold on these matches, he also went to a good one from Harmy who has bowled pretty well in this match a few more wickets and this match could be well over with!

Ab Devillers looked amazingly good in this match he has finally found his feet and is making runs but has the same problem as Smith he is also not able to get out of the 50s and make a big 100 only par scores for test standard and for his own standard which is higher than what he has scored here, his team needed him to be there in the end of this crucial day but he has failed against some good swing. Hoggard deliberatly nipped one into him which totally baffled him and made him play a nothing shot, which Hawk Eye shows was definatly out, a classic outside off delivery with some seem un-done De Villiers!

South Africa vs England, 2nd Test - RSA Post Total!

England have most probably done the job a poor performance from RSA has seduced this match to only 3 days well it should only be 3 days as England have bowled excelently with some good pressure bowling throughout the whole Innings.!


Good Bowling By England!

England have bowled amazingly as said above, mainly Hoggard who did go for runs did the job with tight bowling Freddie also added in some god line and lenght for the team, Anderson as always chipped in nicley with good solid line and lenght which put the tail under pressure, and got the two wickets to end the Innings!

Prince Fails!


Prince was looking in touch and they needed him there to keep the Innings going but he failed once again to an LBW also bowled again by Freddie he needs to get this sorted or his place is danger for the next match and Amla may come back in for him RSA need an anchor man in the side and it wasnt Prince today!

Boje showed amazing strenght and charecter as he tried to keep his side in the game by mainly smashing everyone around too bad he never had the support because Ntini and Steyn went to Anderson and didnt even hang around, well what can we say its not a challenging score and England are virtually 2-0 up in this series!
