MONTY TRYING TO FINISH IN STYLE, INDIA WIN!​

Monty Panesar will have a big question mark over his head, from the eyes of the fans, the team and the selectors. He batted very well with Anderson and all England needed were two runs to seal the deal and keep going on with their positive mindset for the rest of the summer. However Monty has put a dent in that by trying to smash the ball for a six and we only ended up seeing a fantastic catch by Tendulkar in the outfield. He was the only man out their and made a great effort to catch the little thing.

As we can see the joy and frustration below on Monty's face who I'm sure will be questioning himself on why he did that. It will also haunt him but he has to look over it quickly if he wants to suceed in this England side, who are on a bit of a learning curve. Although England lost we can say we saw a very good specticle of a cricket match. It had everything and were very well setup for the rest of the summer!

TEAMS READ TO TAKE THE FIELD!​

After a thrilling game down at Nottingham were ready and waiting here at the Rose Bowl for this 3rd Natwest ODI match up between India and the West Indies. Both teams are looking good and close to their best. The Windies in particular are looking stronger than they have done over recent times getting some of their all rounders and pace attack back.

India will be expecting a victory but anything can happen in an ODI match, and India can be unpredictable, will they be convincing and take an easy win from here, or will we see the West Indies fight and breakthrough this tough Indian side? Stay tuned and find out!

10 OVER UPDATE!​

WEST INDIES SETTING THE INNINGS UP!​

The Windies won the toss and without hesitation elected to bat on this cracking surface. We thought the Indian bowlers would control the game but the West Indians have been merceless on the Indian pace attack with Zaheer and Pathan their much improved bowlers going for some runs in these first ten overs. They havn't had much to work with and really need to stop the Windies scoring some runs, as a big second inning score will be very hard to chase especially if the pitch doesn't maintain it's shape.

Chris Gayle and Devon Smith have done a great job, they havn't let any mental cloud put them down and have attacked from ball one with Gayle really setting the wheels in motion for the Windies. At the same time though the batting has been sensible and not just flawless shots around the wicket, the shots have been placed carefully and delicatly around the ground making it very difficult for the Indians to get a chance to get either batsmen out!

JUST THE ONE WICKET FOR INDIA!​

Despite everything going the West Indies way, India finally found a breakthrough, it came from Zaheer Khan, who has been trying to mix up his deliveries and finally tricked Devon Smith to play across the line and the ball managed to find a little snick through to Dhoni who took it gracefully above his head.

This breakthrough has slowed down the run rate a little bit, but Chris Gayle is still showing signs of blasting the bowlers all around the ground. India really need to get rid of him if they are to stand a chance of keeping the total low so it becomes easier for their batsmen. The next passage of play will be an interesting one to watch and we hope you are looking forward to it as much as we are, this seems to be a thrilling contest so far, stay tuned!

MORE FRUSTRATION FOR INDIA!​

India will not be a happy nation so far, they are really struggling against this somewhat suprising West Indies batting attack, who have launched into complete form on the back end of their tour to England. They have been attacking from the very first ball despite the early breakthrough in the first ten overs, it hasn't made any difference at all. Chris Gayle will be the main talking point for the West Indies supporters as he has set this innings up wonderfully, with Sarwan watching his back and playing the role which is required right now.

The Indians have to think of a quick game plan, should they go for wickets or should they try to keep the total as low as they can, this last twenty overs can be very damaging for the Indian team, if the Windies let loose then this game could be out of reach for India...however if the Indians restrict this West Indian team, then they are in with a chance of winning. But the question is can they do it? The West Indies are only one wicket down at thirty overs which is really something and they have a whole load of batting to come...and batsmen which will have a one hundred percent licence to thrill...it will be very interesting to see this next passage of play, stay tuned!
