Well got my ps3 copy today played Ashes then went online problem is too many people ball full length to your feet and it's really hard to play them shots im trying to practise more so i can do it online as i think mostly people will ball full length lol. Also i seen alot of quitters already!

Well what i normally do when people do that is (hold l1 +l2 and circle and left analog stick where ether he ball pitches) normally goes for a 6 maybe a 4. when i done that they just positioned it differently...

sorry for the shameless bragging but I finally figured out the batting part of the game. Played a T20 Ind vs NZ. Simulated the bowling part(NZ 107 for 5). and then knocked off the runs in 8.3 overs losing 3 wickets. Now if only I can get to bowl the same way, I can advance to Hard and maybe even try online(something I have never done with anything other than shooters for fear of making a fool of myself)

I'm not brilliant at shooters online either, but they're still great fun online! Jump in! Warning: you'll get addicted!!

I won the toss and decided to bat because I thought that with playing two spinners and there being loads of turn on days 3 - 5, it seemed sensible. The openers put on 40 partnership but were both dissmissed in consecutive overs. Bopara and Pietersen put on a 68 artnership and it was 130 - 2 at the Lunch Break. 1st Ball after Luch and Marcus North got Ravi Bopara caught in the gully. But another good partnership of 66 this time between Pietersen and Collingwood put England on their way. Michael Clarke came on the bowling and soon got among the wickets dissmissing Collingwood (caught behind) and then Prior (caught at cover). Andrew Flintoff came in and was Clarke's 3rd wicket of the game getting out LBW. Stuart Broad and Pietersen kept up the run rate and took the attack the spinners, but Broad dragged on from Michael Johnson. Graeme Swann hit a couple of nice shots, but was bowled by an absolute peach from Michael Clarke. James Anderson came in and saw it out till tea and was out in the middle when Kevin Pietersen lauched Marcus North back over his head for 4 to bring up his century. After Tea, Kevin Pietersen went on the attack and his prime victim was Marcus North. The Primary Objective was to get to 300...

ENG 262 - 9 (63.0 Overs)

A.Strauss - 18 (c&b. Lee)
A.Cook - 20 (lbw. Siddle)
R.Bopara - 27 (c. Ponting | b. North)
K.Pietersen - 122*
P.Collingwood - 27 (c. Haddin | b. Clarke)
M.Prior - 8 (c. Hussey | b. Clarke)
A.Flintoff - 5 (lbw. Clarke)
S.Broad - 13 (b. Johnson)
S.Swann - 13 (b. Clarke)
J.Anderson - 0*

YET TO BAT:
M.Panesar

M. Johnson [16 - 2 - 53 - 1]
P. Siddle [17 - 0 - 106 - 1]
B. Lee [6 - 1 - 19 - 1]
S. Watson [6 - 0 - 26 - 0]
M. North [11 - 3 - 48 - 2]
M. Clarke [7 - 4 - 14 - 4]

England seem to be struggling to play the spinners with Marcus North and Michael Clarke taking 6 wickets between them. England can look at the partnerships table and take something out of that with some big ones. [Cook + Strauss 40], [Bopara + Pietersen 68] and [Pietersen + Collingwood 66]

Nice little report. How did it end up!?

Played a 50 over match
My team: India
AI: Pakistan
Difficulty Mode: Hard

I won the toss and chose batting, was comfortably placed at 130/0 in 20 overs when Sehwag mis-timed a pull from Arafat and it rolled on to the stumps. Gambhir was runout the next over due to my stupidity.
In came Tendulkar and Dravid and I played cautiously and finally got a score of 290/4 in 50 overs.

I have saved the game and I will bowl now :)

Overall I find the game really enjoyable, especially spanking shoaib akhtar around the park. :banana2:banana2

That sounds like a realistic score to me. I have been hearing from a lot of people that ODI's seem to be paced well. Is that your experience too?

I've just finished my first test of the 2009 Ashes. I'm playing as England, and i'm playing on Normal, so hopefully by the end of the series i'll be able to move up and be competitive on Hard.

Match Summary

Eng 1st Inns - 450 all out (102.5)

Strauss 180 (273)
Cook 53 (88)

North 5/91 (24.5)
Lee 2/62 (12)

Aus 1st Inns - 370 all out (62.3)

Katich 59 (87)
Hussey 53 (26)

Swann 3/90 (13)
Panesar 1/61 (10)

Eng 2nd Inns - 492 all out (89.1)

Pietersen 152 (184)
Strauss 84 (172)

Clarke 3/102 (16)
Siddle 2/64 (19)

Aus 2nd Inns - 157 all out (43.4)

Watson 40 (83)
Haddin 27 (62)

Flintoff 3/22 (9.4)
Anderson 2/44 (13)

England win by 415 runs!

A good start to the series for England. If Strauss carries on the way he's going i'll get the trophy for 600 runs in an Ashes series.

At one point during the Aussie 1st Innings, they were going at roughly 8 an over! But with some tweaking of the field and using Swann & Panesar, i managed to restrict the runs and dropped their run rate down to just below 6. Their 2nd innings could easily happen in real life. Because of the mammoth target they were chasing, on a deteriorating 4th day pitch, the batsmen were understandably cautious, and this allowed me to build some pressure and blow the top order away. Haddin and Watson provided some resistance but once Haddin was run out I quickly mopped up the tail.

Moving on to Lords I think i'm going to drop Bopara and Swann, and bring in Bell and Harmison. Even though Swann returned best figures in the first innings, Panesar offered more control, and got more runs believe it or not!

Guys, Soz about that test match - Australia put on 150 for the last wicket. Johnson got 96* and Siddle got 41. Very unrealistic hitting - so I deleted the test. Sorry

Won the first test of the Ashes by 1 wicket!!!!:banana2:banana2:banana2

Was only chasing 124 to win it but made a complete hash of it and had a typical England like collapse!!! But Anderson and Swann saw me though:D

Finally bowled Australia out. I had 6 runouts in total and reloaded each time. AI was very aggressive at times but I managed to get the aggressive players out very quickly so not many runs added.
Short ball was a revelation. Bowled 3 maidens at Watson who had been smacking the ball to all parts then he his a return catch. Almost too easy ;)
52/0 (50 behind still) in second innings.
