After a moderately successful CWC 2007 in the Caribbean

That's putting it light terms. That WC was a disaster on many levels. They should have let some Caribbean people organize the thing it would have been better.

anyways back to this WC.

group B has the stronger minnows and Bangladesh is there too so there might be a upset or two.
as for the full member team group A looks harder.

They've got it wrong. India and Pakistan should be in the same group, as should Australia, New Zealand and England.

Or at least Australia and India. Centre it around rivalries.

maybe that's why they have them in different groups.

If you have Pakistan and India in the same group it lessens their chances of meeting in the final. Same goes for the Aussies and England.

Why dont you go ahead and create threads for the next 30 World Cups.

Who knows what the bloody hell will happen by then.

I know it was really bad in 2007. It could have been much better. Some people were pursuing their own agenda's and West Indies as hosts had a close-to-minimal role to play in executing the World Cup. The reason I was light with it was because I didn't really wanna hurt the sentiments of the West Indian's here. They really worked on their WC and it meant a lot to them. We've got to look ahead to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, with optimism and positivity.

The 2 groups look pretty balanced. Kenya and Zimbabwe have some points to prove in Group A. Bangladesh, Ireland and Netherlands are more than minnows in Group B. This gonna be such an awesome World Cup. Action from the 1st game. Every game is gonna be a cliff-hanger, I reckon. Fantastic prospects for 50-over cricket :)

The reason they haven't go rivals in the same group is because you don't want a CWC 2007 like situation where top teams get knocked out early. Its good for cricket to see Australia, England, India & Pakistan playing each other in the Quarters, Semis & Finals, which would be a difficult proposition if they play each other in the preliminary rounds itself :)

Why are you such a baby? You seem to have a problem with everything everyone does.

Seriously, DO NOT COMMENT if you can't contribute positively. All you want to do is rant about this and that. You do nothing but stir trouble. Its seriously naive. Grow up ! :)

Its more than a full calender year away. Anything can happen, West Indies might dominate limited overs cricket the next year, who knows.

2011? 1.3 years too early for this thread lol

Exactly, this thread was so ridiculously underdue.

You have to start sometime, don't you?

And what difference does it make to the motive of this thread if West Indies becomes No.1 in 2011, Bangladesh becomes No.2 and Ireland replaces NZ in the rankings? :sarcasm

Group B looks really tough. Thank god Australia's not in that group.

Yes. Australia looks to be one among the only teams which have a 100% chance of making it through into the Quarters without much issues.
