Guys here is the thing, I think its blatantly obvious to everyone that if India have a good run in the WC, then it is the batting that is going to do it, and not the bowling.

If our seam bowlers are all equally ineffective and useless, then I will pick just 2 of our regular seamers. If Binny can contribute atleast 15-25 runs a match, then I would play him every match as the third seamer. Then pick any two of Bhuvi/Shami/Ishant/Umesh and be done with it.

Bhuvi can bat, and in the first 10 overs has among the top 10 economy rates from last year for all bowlers. So he gets in and Shami can swing his bat and between Umesh, Ishant and Shami, Shami clearly is the best at end overs.

The idea is if our bowlers are a liability regardless of who we pick, then isn't it better to totally back our batting.

Dhawan
Rohit
Kohli
Rahane
Raina
MSD
Binny
Ashwin
Bhuvi
Ozil
Shami

Come Feb 15 this is the line up I would go for. The most I would tweak it is if Dhawan has no form at all, then Rahane to open, and Rayudu to slot into the middle order. Thats it.
But who is this ozil BTW India will also require Axar Patel after MSD[DOUBLEPOST=1421748860][/DOUBLEPOST]As he is the best option for bowling and can contribute with bat a bit too

Ozil refers to Axar Patel only.

We call him Ozil here, or understand Ozil to mean Axar, as Axar has an uncanny resemblance to Mesut Ozil, the German Football WC winner.

not really...Eng despite being a moderate team [with cook gone] team seems to be some sort of bad luck charm for india whenever we are against it nothing good happens nowadays apart from CT finals.

worst part is binny outscored everyone in the team, also why is kohli coming at 2down

Nice easy win, good to see Bell and Taylor getting the job done without any hiccups.

I'd like to think that the team put out today is our team for the WC. Moeen Ali has proved that he can do an effective job with the ball so there's no need for Tredwell to be in the side.

Finn, Broad and Anderson will be a handful for any side and as for Woakes, well this guy has really turned it on over the past 12 months and it's an added bonus that he can hold a bat too!

Not really

Well he's been around the national side since 2010. If you didn't know who he was back then, you sure do now :p

I startes taken interest in cricket since 2013 thats why i was not sure about that
but i was little bit interested in 2011

r Woakes, well this guy has really turned it on over the past 12 months and it's an added bonus that he can hold a bat too!

I was actually thinking stokes would be that guy after the ashes, but woakes has greatly fit in after stokes loosing form.

Rahane was average and Dhawan was pathetic,so once Rohit recovers let Rohit open with Rahane.Absence of somebody solid in the top order is much felt.I don't see a point why Kohli bats at 4.He doesn't seems to like that position so next game he is going to bat at 3.If Raina had performed against England as well,he was sure for the 4th position,but still he is OK for that spot.My XI for next game would be;

Rohit Sharma (if fit or unfortunately Dhawan)
Ajinkya Rahane
Virat Kohli
Suresh Raina
Ambati Rayudu
M S Dhoni
Stuart Binny
Ravichandran Ashwin
Akshar Patel
Bhuvaneshwar Kumar
Mohammad Shami/Umesh Yadav (doesn't really make a difference)

I too will go with your XI only as in your xi many good and experienced all rounders and bowlers are given chance and most important is that you have taken virat kohli at 3

These are good results in a way. Will help identify the issues and get a balanced lineup. Only major issue is that the listless bowling continues

This match just looked like a sook as fas are Indians are concerned.
& a match of hits and trials as far as Dhoni's captaincy is regarded.

Now India have to forget their earlier lost matches and concentrate on the next upcoming matches for being ready for World Cup

Good to see us picking our wicket taking bowlers. You need to take wickets with the regulations these days, so Finn coming into form is very welcome. I would love to see either Jordan or Tredwell in for Bopara, just to give us another specialist, but I can guess you can't have everything. :D

Also, watching the highlights, it's surprising how big Joe Root looks when he's stood next to James Taylor. :p
