India in the West Indies

One thing makes to say bad things about team India is that, how could lose to West Indies when they beat world class teams like, England, Pakistan, SriLanka and leveled with South Africa. If they had lost to one of thoese team den I could have understood but West Indies.....unexceptable!. They're bowling isn't that great. I've been watching the whole series. Indian players are just makin it look top quailty bowling. They're making things hard for them. They should look to play possitive and score freely. Rahul seems to play too slow. They need to score 3+ per over in their next innnigs. I hope they'll play better in their next inning.

Perhaps you should give credit to the West Indies and stop saying that this is an absolute disgrace by the Indian team and constantly criticising the team. This West Indies team has improved drastically after the long break and this could be the revival of Windies cricket. I didn't see any Aussie supporters say as much useless and rubbish posts when Aus nearly lost to Bangladesh which is 10x as bad as India losing to the Windies.

Rahul plays slow? yes he does but he is the wall in the Indian team right? He is their best batsman and who cares if he bats slow, it is a test match and think about how many games he have won for India. I bet if he scored a century you wouldn't say he is slow.

Irfan looked better than Sreesanth and Munaf in the ODI's? May be better than Munaf, but better than Sreesanth? Did you watch the same India-WI ODI series that we all watched mate?

Yes .Pathan went at 5.59 rpo and took 6 wickets at 29 per wicket and
Sreesanth took 2 wickets at 79 with 5.47 rpo.

Strike rate 32 for Irfan and 86 for Sreesanth. Irfan had a good match the second one atleast.

Irfan has been a star player for India and most often, his exploits with the bat and ball is what wins us matches. So his form slump was highly visible to everybody and it hurted the team too. Thats why he is dropped (even though the team manager says he is "rested").

More apt would be to describe it as CHappel's DADAGIRI letting everyone know who is the boss and it is shameful and ideotic.

So, stats mean the world to you, right? I have seen many of your previous posts and most of your arguments have been purely clinging on to each and every player's statistics. You dont seem to give a damn to what impact the player might have in the match, what the captain and the team management think of the role that the selected player might play, etc?

Numbers never lie. Do whatever you want to but the fact remains Sreesanth at best is an aveage bowler who has bee ngiven an extended run considering
his records despite that 6 for agianst England. Average of 36 and rpo of 5.71 nowhere hints at him getting nod ahead of Pathan.

Sreesanth doesnt have the pace, line ,length as demonstrated once again by Gayle,Lara,Bravo yesterday.

Him being the blue-eyed boy of Chappel isnt taking him or India forward.

PS :Sreesath from being your part of the country doesnt neccesarily mean he should always be praised

I wouldnt call the bowling crappy, but it simply isnt good enough.

Three of the first choicers are just there not in the team.

It is not even an international level bowling lineup barring Kumble.

Pakistan's "A" teams bowler might have more experience than these guys.

Its not the better way of comparison mate... :noway

Sreesanth,Munaf and VRVSingh are facing their first abroad tour....The atmosphere is new to them at international level.

So its not possible for a kid to earn money straight away ;) kid has to come across a number of stages to attain the matured level :D

Thts the case here with the bowlers who are learning in evry match!!!!!

But there is no excuse of batsmen...every specialised one is experienced(Dravid,Yuvi,Kaif,Sehwag)!!! I really wonder whts wrong with them!!!!

This is what the problem comes when the inexperienced guys are put into test at differnt atmosphere!!!!

Thts why i was keep on saying that India need experience players in front of the talented but inexperienced guys in World Cup!!!! But there are some people who wanted to take Sehwag out, who wanted to take kaif out(before), even wanted to take Sachin out!!!!

The same problem which we are facing now will occur in WC if there are no experince players to backup!!! we have suffered this already in WC2003 finals where the bowlers went nervous!!!!

WI are currently in driver's seat.... Some miracle shd happen for India to win this!!!!! :upray

These are just my opinions!!!!! :cheers

That was absolutely unnecessary. Its better if u quit such IDIOTIC comments.

If you don't like Indian performance, go do something else. Stop watching cricket.

Why do people take these things so personal? Don't you have better things to do?

Back to cricket.

Its a learning experience for the bowlers. Batsmen could have played better but its just one innings. WI performed way above the expectations, and deserve the kudos.

How are you watching the match?
Well you see, we have this thing called television.

Its all-about line-length. Experience does help, but these are the basics of bowling and no matter if you are a new-bie or a pro, you should be able to bowl the ball in the right areas.
Experience is a key factor in bowling line and length. It may look easy from a viewer's perspective, but it is difficult to maintain line and length. Especially when the batsmen are coming at you. Notice Kumble, even after being smacked for 2-3 boundaries in an over, he will still be the patient workhorse and do his line and length. Sreesanth, after being square cut for 4, will do exactly what Lara expects him to--dig it in short, and in the process get smacked for 6. It is easy to discount the worth of experience, and I think that is what the people who selected the Indian XI did, by "resting" Bhajji and Pathan.

Doesnt need to be true always! Anyways, we got to win with what we have, and we are capable! Lets see what happens!
But we have better than what we are using! Why wouldn't you play Harbhajan, who had a decent tour last time? His ODI performances were, on-the-whole, tidy. He may not have got wickets, but who did? He kept the runs down, except when the Prince was in his stride. I can understand Pathan's exclusion, but I think they only got rid of Bhajji because they felt they needed 3 seamers.

A lot of credit must be given to the West Indies, but I don't think they could continue this joyride without a significant contribution by the Indian players. Let me break it down:

1. While batting, Bradshaw was pathetic. Bowling down the leg-side like he was paid to do it. Fidel Edwards bowled with zing but he only beat the bat like 2 times. He was, on the whole, far too short. Edwards still got the initial breakthrough through the ineptness of Jaffer. Corey Collymore bowled one outside off-stump and Sehwag fished at it. Basically, the point is that the Indians lost their wickets by not playing good shots. And the pressure wasn't built up by the West Indies. They did not bowl perfect line and length until the wicket fell. The Indians failed to put the bad balls away and then got out to weak shots.

2. While bowling, the Indians were already at a disadvantage, given that they selected 3 newbie fast bowlers to bowl at a batting line-up that contains Sarwan, Lara and Chanderpaul. And first, they had to deal with Gayle. Gayle's start was edgy--if you watched the match, he got a lot of edges down to the third man boundary. He obviously shifted modes after that, but the Indians lack of line-and-length cost them. One can hardly blame VRV Singh for being nervous, playing his first international game. Anil Kumble was the only bowler who looked capable of getting wickets. But Bravo, he was simply awesome.

Good start by the openers in the 2nd inning.I hope we can score atleast 400 in the 2nd inning.

Sehwag is really at it, again, I never really noticed how much of an aggresive player he is :p

Well an opening partnership of 100 will do India fine, Wasim Jaffer especially he needs to keep his place in the Test Squad. Only 4 Extras by West Indies so they can't be bowling badly.

VVS Laxman's recent test form hasn't been too great either, come on Wasim Jaffer!
