Pakistan in South Africa

pop gun attack today shot out south africa for 84

cant imagine what shoaib, asif and danish will do to them
Many a times pop-gun attacks manage to do better than a lot of other so-called `great` attacks.
Shoaib, Iam sorry is a show-pony and nothing else.
I do not see him troubling the proteas.

I agree with Asif, though. He is a genuine prospect.
And the Indian attack had Kumble who is miles ahead of Danish in terms of what he has achieved.

But calling India`s attack as a pop-gun attack is not fair at all.
Sreesanth,Munaf,VRV are quicker than your lot of `quick` bowlers like Gul,Rao Ifthikar and Asif.

Munaf, if you haven`t seen him bowling is similar to Asif.
VRV can touch 145kph .

sorry, Rao Ifthikar is a very ordinary bowler .
Munaf has sacrificed his pace for accuracy.
He rarely gets hit by batsmen
He can still clock 145 in spells .

Who says we are taking Rao on the tour? Sami is showing that if you let him bowl fast, he can use his brain and is a wicket-taking bowler.

Well actually, some of his best bowling has come when he bowls in the mid-80s.

ha
are you serious?

mate i advise you to start watching videos of sami in 2001-2004 and you will see how fast he is when he is at his best

He is our strike bowler, with his pace, his job is to scare the batsmen with his pace, that forces the batsmen to go aggressive against the medium pacers, which can result in wickets.

shoaib akhtar has a very good record against south africa,

and so does danish kaneria

south african batsmen have been terrorised by shoaib for the past 7-8 years every tour

just ask gary kirsten

Sami, a wicket-taker ???
Check out his test-career stats.
28 matches Avg 48.03 S.R 81.03
Those are`nt stats of a wicket-taker ,are they ?

He has always been a `future superstar` kind of a bowler but has never really achieved anything big on the world stage.

dude thats because Sami in the last 3 years really hasnt done crap and his average and SR went down and he is still waht 26? so there is still hope for him and lets face it if a bowler has some pace his chances are good to make a squad. and your comments about Shoaib not troubling the batsman are absolutely crazy a dude that has been one of the bigest pains for SAF in the past and can still bowl in the mid 90s, Asif should have a great series with his past form and his ability to move the ball and the pace favourable conditions in SAF, Gul is back in form big time and will be a pain for the bating of SAF with the reverse swing yorkers that he managed on the Pak pitches. im sorry man but the Pak pace attack looks better than Indias, they have more speed and have proven to be more afective over the last year, i think everyone agrees that Asif is the top bowler from both sides, and as for Danish and Kumbe i cant really go up against the 500+ test wickets of Kumble with his surplus of experience but Kaneria does spin the ball more than Kumble which does make him a threat.

I know Sami is crap in the test Matches, but in the one dayers, he has an average of 28.54 with 111 wickets to his name.. He has had tons and tons of bad luck due to drop catches.

The guys had a Hat-trick to his name, and he got it in the first few matches that he played!

i never knew kumble ever spins a ball!!

all he does is lobs the ball up to the batsmen on good length
You ned not spin th ball a mile to be very successful.
All you need is the ball to spin enough to take the edge and that is what Kumble does exceptionally well.
He has a very good variety of deliveries ranging from a superb fliper to a great googly.

But if you feel Kumble has just got 538 wickets by fluke, you know very little about cricket.

Jeez, the obsession with pace that some Pakistan fans have is hilarious. You'd think that all a fast bowler needs is pace. Look at Sami, he has pace and nothing else and is average at best.
