Fantastic update there mate, lovely to see.

Australia just batted too well for West Indies and in the end, the run outs came back to haunt them. :p

I have a question. In Australia's road to ASHES do want me to stick to our actual schedule, make up my own tours or a combo of both?
wat ever the readers want most. coz tbh it'd be a bit boring playing SAF in Oz summer than play them again straight after.

Oh my bad, yeah I think that would make your story more interesting if you add stuff in, so go for it in my opinion.

Not saying it's not interesting already:p!

Cricket Australia have announced a revised pre ASHES itinerary by popular demand. They will also stop presentation ceremonies and post match reviews as they take up alot of TV time (and no-one reads them anyway. lol) they will replace it with a post series wrap up. the Bangladesh ODIs are replaced with a Tri-Series against Pakistan and Sri Lanka which will mean 4 ODIs for Oz, plus the final.
Than the Champions Trophy, 4 Tests Vs India, Home Test Series Vs NZ and SAF, than 5 ODIs each vs NZ and SAF.
Than the Big change, the Ozzies were going to tour SAF, but the ICC yesterday announced the Inaugural Test Championship. It will be held in SAF and see the top 6 Test nations as of 30th June 2008 fighting for Test glory. Than the ICC T20 World Cup will occur afterwards, followed by the ASHES. Australia's tour to Pakistan has yet to be re scheduled and could slot into any gaps in the calendar. More Info on the three ICC events will follow plus the last 3 ODIs against the WINDIES

West Indies Win Series in 5th ODI thriller

The third and 4th ODIs of this 5 match Sereis were washed out by freak storms that hit the area. There was flash flooding all over the Region and they had to call off the 3rd and 4th ODIs.

But we're here at St.Kitts for the final and deciding match between Australia and the West Indies. The pitch is still very damp after all the rain we've had and it will be a horrible match for both teams. Australia made three changes. Haddin is back from injury and replaces Ronchi, while Australia also opt for an extra bowler and replaces the underperforming Symmonds with Ben Hilfenhaus for his first match of the tour. Nathan Bracken is also being replaced after a shocker in the last match, Johnson replaces him.

The West Indies win the toss and elect to bat first.

So the Windies come out hoping to get anything more than 150 on this horrible strip. They start off confidentally prodding ones and twos to be going at 4 an over for the first few overs. but in the ninth tenth, eleventh and twelfth overs Marshall Broke the shackles and along with Gayle they scored 8,6,8 an 8 runs off those four overs with some great fours. at the end of the 12th over they were 0/64. It was a very good opening stand by these two.

But they had little to smile about after than. The wet pitch started to bite back, Marshall and Gayle fell in consecutive overs. Chanderpaul started to fire some rockets to the boundry but Sarwan was struggling and was dismissed in the 17th over. Chanderpaul was batting very nicely and moved into the 20's.

At the 20th over the Windies were 3/114, which wasn't bad at the time. They were going at 5.7 an over with a projected total of 285. If they slipped to 4.5 an over it would be 249. But what that projection can't forecast is a batting collapse. Chanderpaul was claimed by Watson, Fletcher by Clark, Bravo was run out and Ramdin was claimed by Watson all in the space of 4 overs. They were batting very quickly but the pitch was in a bad state and it was very hard to judge the ball. 7/144 at the 26th over mark is disasterous. but some late fireworks by Powell saw the Windies scrape their way to 185, which is actually a very good total on this pitch.

Gayle top scored on 34 while Hilfenhaus' return to international cricket was a bad one conceding 40 runs in just 5 overs

The Aussies came out to chase 186. It was possible but slim. The aussies had their work cut out for them if they wanted to win the series. It was a very quick start by the aussies. 33 runs off the first five overs. With Hayden and Marsh looking in good touch. Matthew Hayden's quick fire 20 came to an end shortly after however. it was 1/36.

Australia had had a very good start, but they needed to continue it. Ponting, the new man in, took it easy, so did Marsh They hit a few lucky fours but were finding it very tough out in the conditions. This partnership was worth 55 when Ponting finally fell for 20. But unfortunately for Australia, Marsh fell the next over after an Edwards pearler that ripped his leg stump out of the ground. Marsh was dismissed for 41, and Australia needed to keep theri cool if they were going to win this. 3/108 after 20 overs was also a good start, much like the windies but as we saw anything can happen.

Anything can happen and it was the worst possible thing to happen for Australia Again a big collapse saw them slump to 8/158. Mike Hussey looked like the man to save Australia but a silly slog sweep attempt saw th eball fly into the air and was caught by Sarwan at fine Leg. Needing another 28 for victory they had theor work cut out for them. The tailenders tried their best but it wasn't enough. Australai were bowled out for 167 and lost the match by 18 runs

Australia have also lost the series 2-1. Shaun Marsh was awarded Man of the Match for his 41.

The Review of this whole tour will be coming up just after this break.

Tour Review.

It has been an amazing tour here in the West Indies on this Australia's Road to the ASHES 2009. The itinerary for the ASHES was announced in April this year and this started the Aussies road to the ASHES as it is just over a year away and all venues and dates are final.

If you can cast your minds back to the Test Series, it saw the Aussies win an entertaining series 2-1, but it wasn't without its shocks.

The first Test saw the Windies win the toss and bat. Two big 100's to Chanderpaul and Sarwan saw the West Indies score 340. The Aussies in reply scored 302 traiing by 38 runs. A Gayle 50 helped his side to 213 in the second with a lead of 251. Australia collapsed for 167 to lose by 84 runs.
Fidel Edwards scored MOM.

The second Test was a little more exciting. The West Indies batted again and another Gayle 50 brought the Windies 1st innings to 223. Two 50's to debutant Ronchi and Captain Ponting saw the Aussies take a 35 run lead with 258. Gayle, Smith and Morton all scored 50's to help the Windies to 275 and take a 240 run lead into the final day. David Hussey scored a quick fifty but it was a Ponting 50* that clinched the 2nd Test in a 1 wicket thriller. POnting won MOM.

Australia clinched the Series in an easy 3rd test win. Hayden's 88 saw Australia to 256 in the first innings. A gayle masterclass 100 kept the windies in the match only 10 runs behind. Hayden's brilliant 125 in the second innings saw the Aussies get 251 with a lead of 261 to defend. The Aussies bowlers easily dispatched the Windies for 180 and Australia had won the Frank Worrell Trophy. Hayden MOM, Gayle MOS.

The 5 match ODI series was reduced to 3 by rain. But the Aussies One Day horror continued losing 2-1.

The first ODI was a tame one. the WIndies scored 272 thanks to sarwan and Chanderpaul 50's. Than Australia had a horror collapse. Being bowled out for 182 losing by 90 runs, despite a Ponting 81.

In the Second ODI the Aussies fought back. 309 thanks to a Marsh 70 and Clarke 100, put the Australian's in a commanding position. They bowled out the struggling WINDIES for 237 to win by 72 runs. Clarke MOM

In the fifth ODi it was very wet and the West Indies claimed the series 2-1 scoring 185 and bowling the luckless ozzies out for 167. Marsh got MOM AND...... Man of the Series goes to.... Shivnarine Chanderpaul for two 50's and top scoring with 172 at 57.33. Marsh also did well in his debut series. scoring 140 at 46.67.

Chris Gayle was named Man of the tour with 380 runs at 42.22 with three 50's and a 100. Sarwan also did well with 367 runs and Ponting scored 343 at 42.88 with four 50's.
Fidel Edwards and Stuart Clark were the pick of the bowlers.
