" Piracy "

MS products are affordable in the west but in India, I don't think so. I know when I grow up I can buy new software even if it is expensive. But right now how do I convince my parents to buy a software and tell them that it is worth the money. Please MS, at least do something for students.

Thanks for being with me.;)
My dad says XP should be sold for RS 1000.

Nearly 90% of Cyber-Indians use pirated Windows.Because the tag of Rs 8500 is not justified by their avg income. We don;t take the value of anything lightly;)

86% of India's PC users have never even heard of Linux:eek:

I would price Windows Home premium at something like 2300-2500 tbh. Makes it affordable yet its quite a high price, but atleast I would pick it up at that price quite easily, its worth for what the software delivers.

An equal no. possibly don't even know what is an OS!;)

Yeah, even tho' they use computers ;). Everything comes out in US$ and what do we, being in EAST do? Income < expenses if we go for it.

Yeah for them PC means Windows. :p

Lol!:D
But really, what I meant was that a majority of Windows users (at least those who don't know enough about computers to know about Linux) probably don't even understand that Windows is an OS, that they are running Windows OS. For most of them a computer is, well, a computer, an intelligent TV! I'm telling this from personal experience.:D

It's not even that affordable in the US. Windows Vista runs for like, $200, plus MS Office is another $150.

Most people don't need MS office and would be fine with Open Office. But people don't know about this kind of freeware.

LOL! Dude, that is far, far more than proportional to your income. In India it is nowhere close to being proportional to your income unless you earn 3 lakhs a year.

piracy is what makes the world go round and round round and round........ Its like a world without a violence.....It can never come true. No matter how technologically advanced your are!

Piracy? What is this Piracy? I certainly wouldn't know about it.

Some things are just too expensive, we still want the quirks in life!
