Hey guys the game "Ricky Ponting pressure play" inside has a files which has Logos/country flags/kits in format .tar ....

I don't know how to open it.

Is there a way to open/extract/view/export... the images/files inside it??

*note I own the game copy hence it's not illegal on my half for editing stuff inside.

Thanks.

Try 7Zip. It supports .tar

http://www.7-zip.org/

Abhas added 1 Minutes and 1 Seconds later...

It is a very good utility, and i am using it for zip, and rar. The 7 zip format it brings with it is also excellent for good compression. :)

You will very rarely find a file that is just .tar (most are then gzipped or bzipped for tar.gz and tar.bz2 respectively), so this may not be the archive that you'd think. So if you can't open it with 7-zip, it will be because it is a non-standard format.

I tried ExtractNow which is a freeware to extract files like zip, rar, and even tar.. though it doesn't work. I'm sure it won't work on 7zip too.

Any help what to do, now? @ whitehornmatt

:cheers Thanks alot

If it is a somewhat small file, zip it and attach it here and I'll take a look at it.

It's just a example of the many .tar files in the game folder..

I'm sure it has all the country flag pictures..
