U both r quoting incidents only abt venkat's bad decisions and what I clearly meant was do provide me the whole table,ur findings r biased as u disclose only abt venkat,Do u mean to say that other umpires haven't made bad decisions?????

All umpires make mistakes. But none on the ICC Elite Panel make as many as Venkat.

Well....I think venkatraghvan is a better umpire than david sheperd and ashoka desilva.Maybe venkatraghvan may have made mistakes but mind u he is one of the best umpires around the world.

Atlast a voice in support of me ..err..venkataraghavan and well said my friend he is one of the best umpires......

Shep and Billy Bowden for Me, agree with Andrew and James, Venkat seems to have a bit of a nightmare when umpiring England Tests, still not as bad as
"Ashoking De Cision" though he is just dire!!!

That guy Aleem Dar (think thats it) was really good during the England Bangladesh series, I was very impressed with such a young umpire, think he is only about 35

But I've seen it in other matches aswell. He just makes terrible decisions. He isn't consistent. E.g. if he doesn't give batsmen out for one team in the 1st innings when the ball looks to be maybe high and maybe missing leg, then he does it in the next innings when the other team is batting.

He is just incredibly frustrating to watch, especially when it's your team being shafted by him!
If that's the case then Andrew, then I could say David Sheppard is no good than Venkat. Well, he gave Sehwag out LBW in the first innings of the first test at Ahmedabad for a delivery missing leg, and then gave one similar but closer not out for Styris and the very next ball, he gave him not out again, for a best LBW call you could get. The ball pitched in line and hit the batsman in line hitting him half way between his ankle and knee on the front foot which was struck on the crease.

Did Shep was taking a revenge on India because of Venkat's decisions?

I am sure that those two desicions cost India the match and the series. There was another clean edge from Astle which was turned down. This happened when Astle was on 40 and he went on to score a century.

Styris had his good time when he was in the twenties and he was the second best Kiwi batsman. -_-

yeah very well ... B) yes

All we're saying is that Venkat makes a higher proportion of bad decisions in England test matches. If you were to watch every England test he's umpired you would agree with me. He makes mistakes in other matches (so does every umpire) but he seems to make more mistakes when England's opponents benefit from them.

It has been commented on numerous times by many observers, and he has been reported by a few England captains.

Come on Andrew, most of the English captains complain for rubbish. Nasser Hussain once said that the sightscreen in Guwahati should be made bigger for their side to feel comfortable, and Sunil Gavaskar famously replied "If that were the case, I doubt the English team will never play at home, or atleast what they call the 'home of cricket'."

I am not discussing anymore on Venkat. :D

I was talking about the reports captains make on the umpires.
